A Wonderful Chronicle of Unilever's Colworth R&D Center Over 50 Years!
This book is truly what is claims to be - a "golden celebration...to commemorate the 50th annivrsary of Unliver's Laboratory at Colworth House". As such, the author's preface is well stated: "The Colworth Chronicles seek to relate the life and times - and the many varied achievements - of the Colworth House Research Laboratory and its satellite laboratories at Welwyn and Aberdeen as they ...

To The Wild Blue And Beyond!
To anyone wondering what "Beyond the Wild Blue: A History of the U.S. Air Force 1947-1997" is about, I would recommend a careful look at the title. The title tells one exactly what the book is and is not. It is not a history of American Airpower, although the development of the Army Air Corps is briefly presented as background. It is not a history of the Air Force in war, although the war record ...

Ginsy's Collected Poems
I just finished reading Ginsberg's collected poems, 1947-1997 -- fifty years and over a thousand pages of poetry. My overall impression is that he was probably the kindest, most moral member of the beat generation. When the other beats were penniless & borrowing money, Ginsberg was the one they borrowed money from. Corso would steal Ginsberg's manuscripts and sell them to used book dealers to ...

enlightening
Caves of Enlightenment is a collection of papers from the 1997 ASOR Dead Sea Scrolls Jubilee Symposium. This collection was edited by James Charlesworth, and the list of contributors is impressive; J.A, Sanders, M. Broshi, S.W. Crawford, Dimant, and Dunn. I liked them all, but especially Broshi's - Was Qumran, Indeed, A Monastery? Also excellent is Dunn's Paul and the Dead Sea Scrolls (which ...

KHAKI SHADOWS
Excellent book. general arif deserves a lot of credit for writing this book. being a pakistani myself i could relate to a lots of facts [which were only speculations before, in my mind]the only part that the general very skillfully skiped was general zia's misterious death and the circumstances of zulfiqar ali bhutto's execution. but again, being a pakistani i do understand general arif's ...

A fabulous, clear, concise look at the complex UFO-ET enigma
Project Mindshift is unlike any other book on this subject that I have ever read. It has a fresh perspective that captures the complexity of the question of extraterrestrial life. In one volume, Mannion presents the reader with a compelling case for the reality of extraterrestrial life; tantalizing evidence of a covert re-education campaign; and an in-depth look at the spectrum of opinion ...

Many Good First Person Accounts
Very easy read. Lots of good information told by first person accounts. I like the author enough I am going to read his other books. I think he believes the majority of Americans anti-British which of course is rubbish. He needs to revisit the last two great wars and all those American cemeteries all over France.

A fairly readable compilation though narrow in its sweep
It would be really unfair to say the book has not been a representative collection of Indian writing in English. It is, though a few glaring points puts it at a disadvantage to become a volume to be cherished. The editors' seems to have allowed their backgrounds and biases to rule which determined their choice to large extent. This could have been avoided had the editors gave a harder look on the ...
