Girls' Toys of the Fifties and Sixties: Memorable Catalog Pages from the Legendary Sears Christmas Wishbooks ...
Although I am more a child of the 60s and 70s, I loved this book. It was interesting to look through, and had many many toys in it, some I do remember from the 60s. It was fun to look at the prices too! If you grew up in these decades you will certainly get a kick out of finding things you had, or toys you hadn't thought of in many years.
NASA Apollo 11 Owners' Workshop Manual: 1969 (including Saturn V, CM-107, SM-107, LM-5)
Apollo 11--Owners' Workshop Manual
I have read all of your reviews. I hope you find mine. I am laughing at your complaints. I am an engineer and worked on the 1st stage of the Saturn V. Here is why these "plans" are not better: Pres. Nixon ended the Apollo program in 1974. Employees (400,000) of us were told to leave immediately. People were so disheartened that they walked away and left all engineering drawings, blueprints, movie ...
The Complete Peanuts 1969-1970 (v. 10)
Charles M. Schulz
Don't go trying to hide in a cave or something!
Fantagraphics Books has ambitious plans to reprint the entire run of Charles Schulz's Peanuts comic strip. This volume reprints the strips from 1969 and 1970. Some of the memorable moments include: Lucy throws Schroeder's piano into the kite eating tree, Snoopy lands on the moon (in his imagination), the little red-haired girl moves away, Snoopy gets elected Head Beagle and Woodstock gets a ...
The Sixties: 1960-1969
University of California Press
Good Material Badly Organized
Mr. Monaco does a good job explaining the changes that American film went through in the Sixties. However, although I agree with a lot of what he says, the organization of the material in this book baffles me. He has a chapter on landmark films of the Sixties. There is a still from Psycho on the front of the book, but he discusses Psycho AFTER he has discussed landmark Sixties films from David ...
The Books of Anselm Kiefer, 1969-1990
1969: The Year Everything Changed
Pointillism with Nose to Canvas
Mr. Kirkpatrick's book suffers from what ails most "biographies of a year:" with rare exception, they don't give you any sense of what it was like to live in that year; they only hit the headlines. The result is like observing a Seurat or other pointillist painting from an inch away: all you see are the dots of paint and you lose sight of the picture itself. Still, Mr. Kirkpatrick does a great ...

I Want to Take You Higher: The Psychedelic Era 1965-1969
i found that this was a wonderful book. i was not around during the sixties, but i have been in love with them for a while. this book is a great trip back to the sixties for those of us who weren't fortunate enough to be there, and i'm sure it is great memories for those who were. i would reccomend this book to anyone in search of information about the sixties/hippies. it is definately a ...
From Columbus to Castro: The History of the Caribbean 1492-1969
Williams' is brilliant
A thoroughly researched book and a well-informed man, Williams does much justice to the West Indian populace. Graduating the top of his class from Oxford University, Williams is indeed worthy of scholastic praise. - Jeremy Pike, history major, University of Texas, at Brownsville
How to Restore Your Camaro 1967-1969 (Restoration How to)
I am restoring my first car, a 68 Camaro and this book has a lot of useful information (dos and donts)in it that and the fact that the pictures are new and in color really help. You will still need the assembly manual to get a better idea of how the whole thing gos back together. I bought another book "CAMARO RESTORATION GUIDE 1967-1969" by Motor book / Work shop and all it had was SMALL POOR ...
The New Crusades, the New Holy Land: Conflict in the Southern Baptist Convention, 1969-1991
David T. Morgan
University Alabama Press
The author does seem to present clues that he comes from a moderate position. Nonetheless this is an excellent book. I personally enjoyed the many details he uses to describe SBC life 1969-1991.
The Amazin' Mets 1962-1969
William J. Ryczek
Mets 1962 - 1969
I played for the Mets in the mid-sixties. Bill Ryczek has written a very enjoyable account of the early days of the Mets. It brings back some wonderful memories of the highs and the lows of that period. I enjoyed the quotes of players and their stories of the New York baseball community. Most common quote - "I wish I had enjoyed it more when I was there." Thanks for the great book. Bill ...
Vietnam, 1969-1970: A Company Commander's Journal (Williams-Ford Texas A&M University Military History Series)
Col. Michael Lee Lanning Lt. Col. (RET)
One of the best books I've ever read
I've had these books for more then 20 years now - taking them with me through flood and fire. The first is SECOND 6 months of his tour while, "The only war we ever had: A company Commanders Journal" is the FIRST 6 months of his tour in Vietnam in 1968-1969. M. Lee Lanning was the youngest person ever to lead an entire Company of 200 soldiers even though he was only a First Lieutenant, all at ...
Forbidden Science: Journals 1957-1969
Marlowe & Co
The Long, Strange Journey to "Magonia"
Forgive me if I gush, but Jacques Vallee is my all time favorite "ufologist." His book REVELATIONS helped to see that there was a real mystery to the phenomenon and that there were those like himself who deplored the abuse of hypnosis in the service of "abduction research" and the fascination with "crashed saucer" tales and government conspiracies. This book takes us to his beginnings. Starting ...
Travel by Pullman: A Century of Service, 1865-1969
Excellent Presentation of Pullman Service
This is a wonderful book! Very thorough, excellent photos/graphics, well written text. Absolutely a must for anyone interested in overnight train travel; what it was, and what it could be.
BULLETS, BOMBS AND CUPS OF TEA: Further Voices of the British Army in Northern Ireland 1969-98
My Voices From The Troubles.
Ken Wharton, thru his books have given myself and hundreds of ex squaddies a chance to tell our stories, our fears, our hopes, funny times, our good fortune of getting out in one piece while many others men and women of all branches of the armed forces, UDR and the RUC could not and of course many civilians that had been killed, maimed.Every time you leave the base to go on foot patrol, mobile ...
Then, Now and Rare British Beat 1960-1969 (Omnibus Press)
In Britain during the 1960s there was a massive cultural upheaval, that was spurred by American rhythm and blues imported albums and singles. Prompted by the huge success of the Beatles and the rich youth culture, many of kids took up guitars, basses, drums, organs, harmonicas etc and formed rock and roll combos across the Isles. Most of these bands never saw the inside of a recording studio, ...
