Highly Recommend
On the inside flap of this book it says, "This edition was designed to help you quickly find answers to all kinds of questions you may have about writing." The QA, by Lynn Troyka does just that. The Quick Access Reference for Writers is an excellent resource book for all writers, especially students. My college English teacher assigned the QA for our class. While I haven't read the entire ...

Very helpful, well organized text
I opened to Queries, immediately I was able to use what I read in a short time to my work. It's well organized, you can go directly to the chapter of the subject you need to know about. If you don't create tables or databases but just need how to query, you can go directly to that. It's probably the most comprehensive book on Access 2007 out there. I highly recommend.

Worth Getting
I found myself suddenly needing to use Access for analysis that was way too big to do in Excel (comparing data sets from 3 sources with ~800K records each). I really knew nothing about Access. Between this book and the internet I have become very proficient in Access. I practically slept with the book for a week. I now find I don't need it and have lent it to a co-worker.

Would not order from individual again, seller did not supply tracking number and it took two weeks to obtain book. Seller was not honest enough to advise the book was not complete. Had to obtain second half from publisher. Dishonest seller..........

Good for a first edition
This is a good book for those new to Access and for experienced Access users who need hands-on work to get to know the ribbon. Granted, it has a handful of technical issues - out of the 7 chapters I've covered so far, I've found 5 relatively small items that didn't work the way they were supposed to. Experienced Access users should be able to figure these out with no problem. Inexperienced users ...

Highly recommend this item.
I highly recommend this book, Microsoft Office Access 2007 Comprehensive Concepts and Techniques. I do suggust that you take other computer classes related to this field. Other computer skills, such as Excel is very helpful, before using this book. I like the way it is set up.

Excellent!
This book is perfect for the novice. It guides you to the key components for MS Access without all the "techie" language. It also points out informative tips and clues to improve your database. This is specific for 2007, which really does make a difference since the security features have changed dramatically. There is a website for the examples. It is easy to download. The book states you ...

Thumbs Up for Access to Health
I just completed a health class and this was the textbook we used. I learned so much from using this book. This book is precise and to the point. It provides you with colorful pictures, charts, and definitions that's superb. It provides great information on Weight Management, Cancer, Heart Disease, Illicit Drugs, and Alchohol. No health class should go with out this book. This is defintely a ...

Comprehensive
This book is much better then the Bible series or Teach yourself in 24 hours series, while they both cover the topics neither have the user friendly graphical approach this series takes. The author covers all the bases and starts with tutorials on windows and office to ensure you have a good foundation to proceed. You learn the topics by doing and using good real world examples, the use of ...

Very Helpful
This book is incredibly helpful to the relatively experienced user. There were quite a few things I was having a great amount of difficulty understanding, but this book explained things in such a way that I now understand and have since completed my databases I was creating for work. Not recommended for the beginner user.

the fog is clearing
This is a good book for a beginner. The examples are very good at walking you through the basics. The terminology/screen shots actually match what Access 2007 looks like. Some of the other books out there don't. Trust me, that creates alot of confusion. This book helps lay the foundation for creating very simple databases. If you have something more complicated in mind, you will need ...

Wonderful study Bible
The Access Bible is the best study Bible I have found. The notes are basic enough that you don't feel like the notes should have notes, but they are scholarly enough that you feel like you have a good sense of the passage you just read. The focus is on things that are central and relevant, not esoteric and only interesting to specialists. I particularly like the way the notes and text ...

Extremely Good Text
I've been using Access off and on since Windows 95 and Access 2. This is absolutely one of the best texts on VBA I have read. Examples are clear, and appropriate; and explainations are complete without being longer than the need to be. The coverage of Access 2007's new features appears to be right on the money.

Office 2007 Bible: For experienced Users Only!
I am an experienced Access user; however, the new Office 2007 took a little time to learn. If you are a beginner trying to learn the 2007 version, I suggest you purchase a more step-by-step book. With my experience, I found it beneficial after I learned the new 2007 ribbon.
