Fiction to Fact: Hidden in the Plain Sight
Fiction becomes fact in the tale where truth is presented with fictional audacity and a excellent example of how such audacity has been blatantly slapped across the face of everyday unassuming Americans without recourse or without a clue of what is truly revealed in this book. A very good read and highly suggested.

Its a Life Changer
I read this book in just over a week, and loved every minute of it. It has great techniques to help you manage your time better at work and in your social life. You can tell the author really enjoys the subject because, he really gets into it and tells you all the do's and dont's when it comes to Time Management. I would recommend this book to anyone. It really changed my view on how I work ...

Good balance of material
This book has a good balance of foundational information and practical applications of Powershell 2.0. If there was a version of this for Powershell 1.0 I wish I had known about it. :-) The author assumes that you have some background in scripting so it doesn't come across as a pure beginner's book. The book provides practical examples for Powershell in the Windows environment and some ...

Academic chairs this one's for you
I've attended a number of chair and dean conferences and read the literature, but this is tops for practical and political advice. It has relevant case studies (a la Harvard Business Review) that are derived from real time war stories. If you're in a difficult situation or need an outside perspective, this book will help you sort it out, and keep you entertained as well. For more on my ...

Nothing Fancy
I found this text helpful and informative, but it's not exactly a thrilling read. I bought it for a college course. Chances are, if you're looking at this review, that's your reason for purchasing, too. Buy it. It's a good resource.

Should be REQUIRED reading for all IT Pros
William Stanek never ceases to amaze me with how much great info he can pack into his pocket consultants. There's not one that's not worth it's weight in gold and I mean that. His are the only books I've ever read front to back and then gone back in for a second or third read with highlighter in hand. Everyone in IT I work with has at least one of his books if not several and sometimes several ...

Good resource
I used this book to help me prepare for the 70-680 certification exam, Windows 7, Configuring. I like the way that the book was written. It is easy to read and makes sense. It will be my main pocket consultant for awhile unless I can find something smaller. This book will not fit in any of my pockets. But there is a lot of information to cover which makes the book thick.

GREAT - In every regard!
With the move to Windows server 2008 and Exchange 2007, the command line has been a place that needs to be re-visited. Technology is forever changing, thanks to our friends in Redmond. This book, therefore, is the perfect companion to anyone that is on a server trying to get things done on a regular basis. There are extensive examples and discussions about command line operations. I have ...

Solid, practical, useful
Like all William Stanek's books, this one is excellent and relentlessly focused on what matters. If you're working with Windows networks and want to know more about Active Directory, this is an excellent choice. The focus is on core Active Directory administration. It answered so many of my questions right off I decided to read it cover to cover. Stanek's are the ONLY computer manuscripts I ever ...

Helpful is an understatement
First thing I was not that familiar with SQL. I have done minor queries but that was it. Besides that I have had nothing to do with SQL. My boss then decided I should start administering our SQL server because the other 15 machines I administer was just not enough and it is the same as a server 2003 machine right? Whatever. I bought this book with the hopes it could help me with the day to day ...

It really is a pocket consultant
I had assumed that this book was a cookbook in nature, I need to do this procedure - look it up and execute the steps in order. But it really was a lot more. It does an excellent job of explaining the concepts in a concise accurate manner. There is an impressive amount of content in this book as well. I was happily deceived by its size. But if you want a book that quickly explains what you ...

A daily answers guide to R1 and R2
Stanek is the best of the best in computer writing for a reason. He's both a professional writer and one of thew few technical gurus Microsoft looks to. Thanks to one of Stanek's other books, I lead our deployment of Windows Server 2008 the first time. Now we're preparing for R2, I did my homework again and again chose one of his books to help me -- this one. This book, Windows Server 2008 ...
