Cute for the purpose of introducing Disney characters
This is a cute board book for the purpose of introducing Disney characters. It's a VERY condensed version of the Lion King story. My son is 2 & it's condensed to an age-appropriate level of words to listen to. However, the story is so condensed that it's really not that interesting as a story. My son does like it though... but you would only buy this book if you really want to introduce the ...

Love it!
My family is very fond of all of Julia Donaldson's books, but The Snail and the Whale is our very favorite. Axel Sheffler's illustrations are whimsical (My son has noticed that most of the insects he draws have noses)and beautiful. I am especially fond of its rhyming, making it a delight to read. Most of all, I love the messages it contains. One of which is that the world is vast and ...

Awesome!
I have had my share reading books with my two younger children for their AR goals in school, and I must say this series is just awesome. They are short enough to read one per night and test on the next day! Very interesting as well, even for an adult! Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

A fascinating read for anyone
I'm no herpetologist but I couldn't put this book down! The author has a real knack for weaving together the details of how to do science with the excitement of real discoveries. She brings alive the magic of science, travel, survival, interacting with other cultures, and curiosity for how the world works. A great read!

Supergardeners Pablo, Uniqua, and Tyrone are so good at gardening that they grow a giant beanstalk. When they climb up the beanstalk, guess what they find? A giant named Tasha. Tasha is a grumpy giant, because she's sick and tired of eating mush all the time. Can the supergardeners help give this giant a green thumb? This fun adventure story is a great way to kick off summer and celebrate vegetables!

One Day in the Prairie
I have its companion books "One Day in the Tropical Rainforest", "One Day in the Woods", and "One Day in the Desert". I was very excited to get this one. I use them all in my third grade class room. The children find them an interesting and exciting way to learn about different types of land.

really good
We liked the story. It was fast-paced as all the Magic School Bus books are. The subject was well covered, lots of information on how germs harm the body and how our natural defenses help conquer them.

Wildlife researchers and conservationists Delia and Mark Owens have spent much of their lives since 1974 in the African bush, first in the Kalahari Desert from which came their best seller "Cry of the Kalahari" and then in the North Luangwa Valley in Zambia, the setting of this 1992 book. As capitan of the Destiny and having experienced this storm first hand, I can say that Tony's work is by far the most accurate of all the articals I have read. This is the book I recogmend when asked for my story. Good trees, but a disappointing forest
In this book, MacFarlane tries to trace the process by which humans - - well, European humans - - came to view mountains as places of beauty, glory, and adventure. He doesn't succeed in giving us an answer but he provides a lot of stories, and a little history, on these thems. He builds the story around themes such as scientific research into geology, glaciers, and the nature of time; fear ...
