This book has saved hundreds of thousands of liveslives!
This book tells exactly how hundreds of thousands of real alcoholics have been saved from alcoholism. How can anyone be critical of that if it works? Only the stupid, or ignorant can criticize a book which has literally saved so many people from certain death (not to mention the thousands more they could have victimized). It is truly a miracle, by virtue of all of the people it has saved. True, ...

LOVE IT
I know at first the writing style of the text in the book may throw some people off... but it is what gives the story the actual feel of being there and exploring the crazy chaotic world of meth... great book, wish it was a bit longer, i read it in 6hrs

Addicted to this book?!
On advice from a friend in rehab who read it i bought it brand new. Did not stop reading it except to sleep and eat...period. Thirty six hours later i felt as spent as he did, without the crakheads and dirty needles. I really felt for the character...because as real as he lived it it is still a ROCKSTAR's portrayal of addiction. Nobody i know has ever been that high but alot have been that low. ...

Great inside view into the life of addiction!
I don't know of anybody that has battled with addiction so I got this book to help my understand. I heard about it on a local radio station when the author stopped in for a visit. This book really gives you an ides of what a person might do to feel their additions...It's unbelieveable but the author survived it all! Great read!

Change Your Brain, Change Your Life
This book(I listened to the cd's.) is an amazing insight into the human brain, how it works, and explains so many misconceptions about thinking in regards to our present mindset about behavior. It explains each part of the brain and behaviors that are represented by each part in a way that is easy to understand and connect to. It also gives great detail and information on behaviors, why we use ...

Great book for teens!
This book, a sort of biographical account of a daughter's descent into crystal meth addiction -- written by her mother -- is a very powerful story written in free verse. The simplicity of the words belies the terrible story of the immediate and irresistable hold that crank takes on the unwary victim. The fact that the drug is introduced to an honor student by her father during a custody visit ...

An excellent book for those who wish to eat healthy all year long.
I read the previous edition of this book ("Keeping Food Fresh"), then bought this edition for my daughter. All of the methods I have tried from this book have been very good. I appreciate knowing how to preserve food the way people used to (and obviously some still do), without having to destroy so many nutrients through canning. Many of the recipes in here can be adapted to other foods. For ...

Five stars: An inspirational true story
An amazing story of courage, confidence, and most of all, love. The tales from Jeannette's crazy childhood are, at times, unbelievable. There were moments when I wanted to scream through the pages of the book at her parents, and even at Jeannette herself. Her parents followed their beliefs and failed to hold steady jobs. As a result, Jeannette and her siblings often went hungry, were unable to ...

A spirited look at the history of alcohol from the dawn of civilization to the twenty first century For better or worse, alcohol has helped shape our civilization. Throughout history, it has been consumed not just to quench our thirsts or nourish our bodies but also for cultural reasons. It has been associated since antiquity with celebration, creativity, friendship, and danger, for every drinking culture has acknowledged it possesses a dark ...

This is a serious book
A serious book calls for a serious review and I will try to provide that. Zubrin covers a lot of ground so I will take this by chapter. First, the author has a PhD in nuclear engineering so he knows the science. The first two chapters provide the rationale for his campaign to replace petroleum with methanol, and to a lesser degree ethanol. The book was written a year ago and the effects of food ...

Allen Carr's Easy Way Review
I read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Drinking with a critical, but hopeful open mind. I wanted to believe that just by reading this book that he would convince me to give up drinking without regret, and without the need to use willpower. I liked that I didn't have to give up drinking during the book. That gave me some time to put off that dreadful day. I read steadily, but had no desire ...

Do twins begin in the womb? Or in a better place? Kaeleigh and Raeanne are identical down to the dimple. As daughters of a district-court judge father and a politician mother, they are an all-American family -- on the surface. Behind the facade each sister has her own dark secret, and that's where their differences begin. For Kaeleigh, she's the misplaced focus of Daddy's love, intended for a mother whose presence on the campaign trail means ...

One bad decision, two lives lost!!!
My name is Jazmin and I am a freshman in high school. I had to pick a book for an English project. A friend of mine read Tears of a Tiger and said it had some good life lessons in it. Even though this book is fictional it is a very good book to read for kids my age because it shows how one bad decision can change lives. In this book the main setting is Hazelwood High School. The main character ...
