One day and I've already used it
I bought this book for clinicals that start 3 months from now. But I've already used it as reference for an exam. 3 of my classmates have seen and and are buying it also. Great info.

Great content, but have to agree about the binding
I love the content of this book, but I've had the same problem with the binding. The first time I tried to crack the binding a little, an entire section popped out. I really like the content and plan to get the book bound. I don't want to give the book a bad review just because of the binding, but the publisher really needs to fix this problem.

Best book and DVD for my course
I will be soon training to administer local anesthesia in the dental office where I work as a periodontal co-therapist. This is the book that is required and with the DVD it is perfect for studying. I would recommend this for any dental hygienist in this type of program.

Essential Book for Cardiac Anesthesia Practitioner
During our clinical practice in a teaching hospital in Istanbul, Turkey; I found the previous editions of this book very useful. I ordered my first book from [...] to receive the 2008 edition in January 2008. I have done a correct decision. This is an up-to-date, valuable practical book for Cardiac Anesthesiologist; as well as for residents who recently start to learn Cardiac Anesthesia. The ...

Better off?
An inevitable must for all new residents coming into the world of anaesthesia and medical technology. Each new edition of the book gets more and more modern equipment oriented - losing out on the simplistic educational value of the older equipment. The gradual loss of the Non-rebreathing valves, from the second edition followed by Goldman vaporizer, EMO, OMV etc has reduced the level of 'ease of ...

A Barash Follower
In Anesthesiology they say you are either a "Barash Person" or a "Miller Person." It is my personal opinion that Barash does probably the best job at providing content that is relevant and devoid of minutia. All sections contain material that is optimal for reading and assimilation. The text is large, yet it is far from dry. I highly recommend this as "The" backbone text for Anesthesiology!

Great book!
I had an opportunity to look through this book when a fellow vet tech student borrowed it to use for our Surgery class. It has ALOT of helpful information and was particularly beneficial for me in regards to monitoring during surgery and how to handle surgical emergencies (hypoxemia, hypovolemia, etc.). I would definitely recommend getting this book!

Excellent for reference and study
This is now the fourth edition of this textbook that the reviewer has purchased. The first edition was the reviewer's companion during the senior year of medical school and residency training, when the appropriate sections were read whenever encountering patients with one of the discussed diseases. The second edition was the reviewer's most-used texbook during preparation for the anesthesiology ...

lovely text
I am a CRNAP practicing in an ansethesia group that does a great deal of regional anesthesia. We have developed a library of texts to be used for reference/review. This text is the best of the lot with clear concise illustration and excellent text. If you wish to have just one book to use as a reference, this one is it.

The Definative Source on Regional Anesthesia
After patiently waiting for it's release I was thrilled to get my copy of "Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management" edited by Admir Hadzic. Finally there is a true textbook of regional anesthesia not simply a step-by-step instruction manuel for performing a block. That information is of course included (in the terrific fashion we have come to expect from NYSORA) but it is completmented by ...

Griggsby Wright, MD says: This is the Bible of OB Anesthesiology. Dr. Chestnut has taken his area of expertise and has put it into a text that has become known by all in the specialty. The changes in physiology of the peripartum patient are well-described as are the management options of the high-risk patient. Anyone who manages OB patients should know this book.

If Morgan/Mikhail is the bible, then this is the hymnal!
I am a student of nurse anesthesia and I have been looking far and wide for a portable, concise source of information that can accompany me to clinicals; I have finally found it in Lynn Macksey's Nurse Anesthesia Pocket Guide. I used to carry at least 5 books with me but now I only carry Macksey's guide and Morgan/Mikhail (and I'll take Macksey's peds guide too depending on my cases). Her guide ...

Great book. Very practical and easy to read
This is a great book. It has a lot of practical advice that has clinical applications, not just theory. This is what makes the book different from many of the other anesthesia texts. In addition there are 2 sections of the book that many other books don't cover: how to go about looking for jobs/assessing a practice you might join, and also medical coding and payment. The book is quite easy to ...
Atlas of Ultrasound- and Nerve Stimulation-Guided Regional Anesthesia

There are few situations in anesthesia where precise anatomic location is more important than in regional anesthesia. But, of course, any anesthesiologist who performs regional on a regular basis is fully aware of the frustration of attempting to locate nerves on a trial and error basis. Ultrasound imaging now enables us to visualize nerves, and this exciting technology offers several distinct benefits over conventional nerve locating ...
