I have always loved this book!
The Christmas Edition This was a bedtime favorite of my children. Now our oldest is about to have her own child (its a boy). So I bought a parcel of books for the baby. When Kimberly saw this book, tears sprang in her eyes remembering me reading this to her while she sat on my lap. In a few more months someone new will be in her arms on her lap, and she will be reading this book to him.

SUPERB
I've had a problem finding a good book recently but I have really enjoyed The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. I can't seem to put it down. I don't usually like Oprah books but the writing is graceful and not forced and it gets to the heart of familial struggles.

Another great "if you give..." book
Reviewed by Cayden (age 4) and Max (age 2) Aures and Mom for Reader Views (8/08) "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake" is written in the format of the popular "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" book. "If you give a cat a cupcake, he'll ask for some sprinkles to go with it. When you give him sprinkles he might spill some on the floor. Cleaning up will make him hot, so you will give him a bathing suit ...

BUY IT, READ IT AND ENJOYYY!
This book was recommended to me a 1000 times just by everybody (including Amazon). The thing is I thought it was going to be really depressing: a circus (they really depress me), great depression era.... and when I started reading it.... an old man in a home. Well, I finally thought, ok I HAVE to read it, at least to see why everybody is so in love with it, and now I am one of those people ...

Remarkable Indeed!
Stacey O'Brien was a biologist at Cal Tech when she adopted a 3 day old Barn Owl with a permanently damaged wing whom she named Wesley. This is the story of their relationship during their 19 years together. It's a charming moving (but not overly sentimental) funny and informative tale. You will learn more than even most scientists know about Barn Owls as the story unfolds and you'll gain ...

"Alex and Me" A Great Book
I had preordered my copy from the the moment I knew about it. I stated reading right away. ALex was a wonderful bird and Dr Pepperberg gave a wonderful insight into her life with Alex. Reading it made you want to cry, laugh and cry some more at the end. Alex was such a larger than life parrot. I am glad to have known about him, sad not to have met him. I recomend this book to all bird owners and ...

Terrific book!
Barbara Kingsolver has struck a wonderful balance among educating readers about gardening, slow food, food science and telling a great tale of a family's adventure of local eating. The recipes are great, too! What a revelation to learn that we have all been anesthetized by the large corporations, whether they be the corporations that produce processed food, or the seed companies with their ...

I can has awesome coffee table book?
I'm a huge fan of I Can Has Cheezburger. When I saw that they put out a coffee table book. The price was right at $10. I was very impressed with the quality. The book is smaller than I thought but the content makes up for it. The book's content contains some old lolcats favorites and some new ones. It also includes explanation pages on what some of the lolcats speech means, e.g. "I has a bukkit." ...

Thanksgiving book
My 3 year old granddaughter loved this book. She quickly caught onto the rhyming of the book and could finish the lines by looking at the illustrations. The book is predictable but, in using the Thanksgiving theme, makes for an interesting book.

Berkeley Breathed delights yet again
I buy Breathed's children's books for myself and *consent* to share them with my 6yr. old niece. They are by far my very favorite children's books, and you can imagine my delight when i saw Pete & Pickles was released. It is exquisitely written and illustrated. It is whimsical and heartwrenching (all while it makes you laugh out loud). Everyone i show it to (and then quickly snatch back from ...

Both of my kids LOVED this little book & still do!
I bought this tiny book 4 years ago at one of our local book shops. It is now tattered and torn from all the use it has gotten over the years by both of my kids! But it is still one of their favorites. It has taken a beating and we still keep reading! This is the book that I keep in my purse or diaper bag to keep my kids occupied at a restaurant, in a waiting room or at the grocery store. ...

Great book.
Enjoyed the book and found it helpful, but not magical when actually implementing the suggestions. If I could get my Great Dane to read it all my problems would be solved! Liked the suggestions on using the dog training tips in dealing with others in our daily lives.

attracts attention - a timeless classic
This little book which I bought on impulse turned out to be the best of the activity books for my son, now 13 months old. He is easily distracted and this book (coupled with his father's additional stories about the bunny) helps him stay focused and stimulates imagination. It is also very helpful at the evening meals, when he is so fascinated that even the tiredness does not make him fuss over ...

Bats love this library
And librarians and the kids they share it with will love this book. The detailed pictures beg for young readers to take a closer look. Baby bats wear swimmies on their arms. A water fountain is turned into a great splashing pool. Characters from books kids know and love make frequent appearances, and the library setting reminds us of the venerable institutions we all remember, or at least wish ...

Brown Bear's back!
I remember reading this charming story to my own kids and also to my preschool class. Now it's been reissued in board book format, artistically illustrated, and every bit as enjoyable. This is a perfect book for teaching color and animal names, in a catchy rhyming format. Each page foretells what the animal and color will be on the next. Recommended for reading to babies and for beginning ...
