Great children story
I recently purchased this book for my grandson on the recommendation of a friend. I was not familiar with it but it is a beautifully written and illustrated story that teaches a lesson for the young or old. As an elementary teacher for over 30 years this is one of the best stories I have ever come across. I highly recommend this book for any age.

Great book for life
I first saw him saying in videos available on the web and thought it was pretty nice. The poem of Derek Walcott's, 'Love after Love' that he introduced almost in any lecture was very thought-provoking. It touched my mind deeply, when it said,"There will be the time when, with elation you will greet yourself..." The words "with elation" expecially touched me. And then I read this book. It was an ...

Used properly you will become a special person: used badly, your facade will be obvious
Here is a great book which enables you to 'show others what they want to see'. I love the way the book is set out, and each idea is illustrated to perfection. I feel that, having these skills, the only important missing ingredient is personal congruence. There are two ways to use this book: first, you can use the techniques to generate a manipulative facade, a lot of the ideas here could ...

I bought this book for my daughter, who has Borderline Personality Disorder, to use as a tool for practicing her coping skills. The program she had just gone through didn't even have this, or suggest it to her. She works with it every couple days, and it helps her get through some rough patches. People with Borderline have a very specific set of needs, fears, and issues. I won't go into it ...

Transformation IS Possible NOW !
Although I was somewhat familiar with all of the concepts, my interest was peaked after a lecture given by my own doctor. After years of nagging discomfort, exhaustion and severe allergies, the connection was clear for me. Extensive testing with my doctor clearly defined issues with Celiacs, food allergies, and imbalances with my hormones, vitamins and minerals. The UltraMind Solution is a ...

Our mind and our thoughts
I have not finished reading the book, but what I have read has been very useful. I think all the time, and my thoughts can be quite disturbing. This book allows me to look into my thoughts and analyze them. It is easy to read and understand even if you are not a psychologist. It is very well thought out. I sincerely recommend it to anybody who cannot stop thinking! Mind Over Mood: Change How You ...

A wonderfully helpful book
My 10yr old son started having anxiety issues following a long bout with illness. We did contact the local counseling center, but it was going to take 4 weeks to see the therapist (we live in a very rural area). We got this book hoping to find some way to help him deal with his worry. It made all the difference in the world. We would work on it a little at a time each day, and he would practice ...

a biochemical reason behind mental disorders
Dr. Daniel Amen's Change Your Brain Change Your Life provides an idea that much of the psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and the like, can be attributed to physiological brain disorders, not just regular psychological reasons. This was an interesting book. Amen's main idea is that certain psychological disorders could have a physiological component in the brain. There ...

The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook
This book was very helpful; actually suggested by a doctor. He lent us the book, and we thought it was so helpful, we bought a copy. It is easy to understand--divided into different categories of anxiety; the causes of this problem, and helpful, easy to use suggestions to use every day.

Excellent and Workable
An excellent read on C.B.T. Although I do not take the same position as it's author (i.e. ruling out Conventional Psychology altogether). I found his approach extremely helpful and workable.

Entertaining AND Life Changing!
I've had super-strong anxiety all my life, on and off with depression. Everybody knows the best way to help yourself permanently is a combination of medicine and behaviour modification, so after years of only doing the former, I set out to find the best information to tackle the latter. I looked at a million books online and in the library, bought a few, but by miles this is the best one of ...

Outstanding
I recommend the book to anyone who eats to cope with stress, anxiety or fear. Great road map on how to take charge, lots of real life examples and exercises to get in touch with feelings. Other books suggest finding other activities to replacing eating as a way to cope with stress, anxiety or fear but as I found out they do not work long term. Once the avoiding activity is complete the mind is ...

Great bedtime CD!
My 6-year-old son has been listening to the Indigo Dreams CD every single night since he was 2 years old. Recently I started to feel like the CD wasn't helping him anymore -- it seemed like he just didn't even notice it anymore. So I purchased Indigo Ocean Dreams. It has been wonderful! He was so excited to listen to the new stories and went to bed without incident the very first night. As ...

CBT Book Great
I had been suffering with panic attacks and generalized anxiety for a few months. I tried therapy, meds, ect and found them all to be not for me. I was pointed to Cognitive Behavior Therapy by a college counselor, and bought this book. I LOVE it. It is set-up very well, has charts to write in, and has really reduced my anxiety. I have been doing a chapter (about 8 pages) a week for about 8 ...

Giving Children Strategies
I bought this for my 5-year-old son, and I thought he would throw it across the room, because he often rejects my attempts at "talking through" his anger. But he was fascinated and seemed quite relieved to have been given a strategy to help himself. He often speaks in terms of feeling like a "5" or a "3". It is, for me, a helpful context for understanding his moods. That night, after we first ...
