David F. Swensen

Great Compliment
Great complimentary text along with "Common Sense On Mutual Funds" and "The Intelligent Asset Allocator". Combined, this is a wonderful trio for investing (as opposed to short-term, completely unreliable speculation).

My Mother, Your Mother: Embracing "Slow Medicine," the Compassionate Approach to Caring for Your Aging Loved ...8 reviews
Dennis Mccullough

Harper, 2008

Good preparation for adult children
I usually never underline books. I did underline this one since I intend to keep it. Dr McCullough writes from his heart. He shares his experience as a gerontologist and as a son helping his mother in her last years. He gives us lots of suggestions and tells us what to expect when the time comes for us to do the same. One thing I miss though is a photo of his dear mom.

Don't Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability, 2nd Edition420 reviews
Steve Krug

New Riders Press, 2005

Improve Your Website
I'll bet that every person who builds a web site, personal or commercial, big or small, thinks that, even if it has a few faults, it's pretty good. I'm not certain that people who visit sites have as charitable a view. Steve Krug believes that the visitors' views could be improved with a common sense approach to web usability. The theme is set out in the title. Web users don't want to have ...

The DASH Diet Action Plan: Based on the National Institutes of Health Research: Dietary Approaches to Stop ...14 reviews
Marla Heller

Amidon Press, 2007

Dash Diet Rocks
Very easy to follow book, easy read. The thing I love best in the book is the sample diet plan that is easy to follow. Before I started the dash diet my blood pressure was off the charts. After several months on the diet it is normal. I credit this book for that drop in blood pressure. I would recommend this book to others that have high blood pressure and are looking for a diet that works ...

The Five People You Meet in Heaven1579 reviews
Mitch Albom

Hyperion, 2003

Very profound!
This book is another one to add to your collection. It had me from the beginning, starting with the countdown and couldn't put it down from there. I felt every emotion Eddie felt and it makes you think. Age old question is what happens to us when we pass. Everyone has their own ideas, but I really enjoyed this author's story about Eddie and the five people in heaven for him. I can't say ...

Elizabeth M. Varcarolis, Verna Benner Carson, ...

Saunders, 2006

Much Improved Fifth Edition.
Any book of thys type that has gone through five editions has to have something going for it, and This book has many. Perhaps the most important is the writing style which is as light and casual as it can be considering the subject. The goal is, of course, to prepare the student for a career. The book combined instructional material with case histories that illustrate how a particular case, ...

I Like the Audio Better than the Hard Cover
Since 531 people have already reviewed Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation and a gozillian people have reacted with comments when they voted, I am being assertive by thinking I can add something.
