Excellent resource!
This is the best all around resource on corals. I managed an aquatics department for a petstore for a year, and this book was the one I recommended for new reefkeepers. It is organized taxanomic (by species) and has great info on coral needs and propagation. This is a must have for any saltwater library, and I return to it often.

Awesome general overview.
This book is an awesome general overview for those that are researching a big budget build. It is not a reference guide for someone researching specific reef, planted, community fish aquaria info. There are many other books that serve that purpose. You will see many aspects of aquaria installed in some very unique situations by a great team who do this everyday from their facility in Houston.

Recent book purchase
As usual, I was pleased with Amazon delivering in a timely manner just what I expected. The book was a holiday gift. He was pleased. It's very good in text and illustrations for someone just starting out in the hobby. I got the hint from his wife and in 5 minutes online picked out what I wanted and off it went. I always look in Amazon first before making any purchase.

Little heavy on the chemistry--very heavy on working results!
Read this book cover to cover and some of the science was little deep, but the author really just uses the science to explain why the methods work. She fully and completely lays out the steps to be successful even if you can't master the science behind it. After reading this book, I had to try it. I set up a small 10 gallon tank following her methods exactly. It's only been three weeks but ...

Difficult to Imagine
This book is a "must read" for anyone conerned about personal freedoms and human rights. What the author has endured is unspeakable in any kind of civilized society. The detailed description of the concentration camp and it's workings will mesmerize the reader and then numb the senses. Why do the the Korean people tolerate this treatment of their citizens? Truly, Stalinism is alive and well in ...

Everything you could ever want to know about aquarium plants
I loved this book! It has very in-depth information. I've always had problems with algae in my planted aquarium and this book explains several reasons why this occurs and how to prevent it. It explains, in detail, nutrient requirements, lighting options, ways that fish and invertebrates interact with plants, and which plants are best for beginners. It explains complicated information with clear ...

Nature Aquarium World Volume 2
The Nature Aquarium World set is excellent. I bought book 3 first and it was for large to gigantic planted aquariums. Book 2 starts with miniature tanks and goes up to medium size tanks. It provides a good variety of planting ideas with a list of plants, fish and accessories needed to recreate each design. The pictures are stunning.

One of the best of the best vol.2
This volume of the series covers the soft corals and sea anemones; very important topics indeed for reef aquarium. The two books together are still not complete as there are many organisms found in a reef aquaria still not covered. In this series. A fine glossary accompanies this book. Much of what I had to gleen by trial and error and by reading arcane publications over the years is covered in ...

Wonderful Stony Coral and Clam Reference
The good? This book is truly a comprehensive piece covering probably more than you want to know at times. For example, it explains the chemical reactions that occur during calcification of corals and why additions are necessary. After reading many other references, I must say I am very happy I purchased this volume. Contained in these pages are insights you won't find anywhere else. The ...

Great beginner guide and quick reference
I used this book to clean up a dying 10 gallon tank and start a 55 gallon tank and the information was invaluable. Two years later I still refer back to this book (in fact I am buying a replacement for my lost copy). I found it to contain all the essential information one needs, plus great information on fish personalities and interactions. The fish descriptions and types are quite abridged, but ...

...for beginners and advanced alike. This book offers basic information on a wide variety of plant and fish species.
