great memories
I originally purchased this book when my children were young, and it was nearly worn out from the numerous readings. My children loved the "bumps" and I always used the "tear water tea" to remind my kids when everything seemed to be going wrong in their world. It is a great little book for children...and some of us adults as well.

Captivating
I had this book for almost 3 years and I can't believe I just got around to reading it this weekend. This was the best love story I've ever read! I couldn't put it down and yet like the other reviewers at [...], I didn't want it to end. I thoroughly enjoyed the developing relationship between Gabriel and Alexandria. This story had me reading certain parts out loud just to get the full effect, ...

Young Girls Life interrupted by Nazie terrorists!
This young girl suffered so much at the hands of the French, who sided with the Nazies. She was French and they took her away from her parents and put her in a terrible reform type school. This book enlightened me as to how horrific that these Jehovahs Witnesses were treated and only because of their deep religious convictions. It brought many tears to my eyes at how the innocent ones ...

Childhood favorite revisited
This is a book that my mother read to me as a child and, later, as I learned to read, would read to her. Now, 30 years later, I am reading this to my daughter and sharing one of my childhood favorites with her. Some of the ideas are a little dated, Miss Suzy is a stay-at-home squirrel who enjoys cooking and cleaning, but it also a tale of kindness and respect.

Emerged from the pack as my favorite
Even as a beginner in spanish, studying mostly at home with books and digital files (Learning Spanish Like Crazy and Rocket Spanish) and occasional visits to a local spanish tutor -- I have found this book to be my best source for grammar clarification. I purchased about 5 grammar books. My other favorites were actually workbooks rather than reference sources -- likely to diminish in ...

Help a child learn to read
The Frog and Toad books have helped my 8 year old grandson learn to read--he has been having trouble and these books were so interesting and fun to him that he finally realized how reading could open up whole new worlds for him. He loves these books.

Intriguing and informative
"When in Doubt...Blame a Jew!" was one of the most enlightening and educational books I have read. I am of Jewish faith, went to Hebrew school, and was bat-mitzvah'd but never have I gained as much insight about the Jewish religion as I did from reading this book. It covered the history in great depth and also added humor which really made it a pleasure to read. The author's ability to relay his ...

Arnold Lobel's fourth charming collection of Frog and Toad stories
I was at a wedding where the minister was a very good friend of both the bride and the groom. When it came to the part of the service where the minister imparts words of wisdom, he started to read the Frog and Toad story of "The Surprise." It is all about how one October when the leaves had fallen from the trees Frog decides to go to Toad's house to surprise his friend by raking up all the ...

From East To West: The Story of SGI In America
This book (series) chronicles the history of the Nichiren Buddhist laity, Soka Gakkai, from 1960 to the present. It's a collection of the personal struggles and victories of the pioneers of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism in America. No matter how many times I read it, it never fails to inspire me with hope and courage. The SGI motto "No matter what, never give up!" echos from every page. As a ...

Footsteps of the Messiah... a must read
A comprehensive study of Eschatology, that is as about as good as it gets. The exceptionally in-depth study of not only the scriptures, but how to study the scriptures, is a must for any serious follower of Yahushua (Yeshua) Hammashiach. Dr. Fruchtenbaum's grasp on the material, truly seems inspired, and I believe will allow most readers to get a firm grasp on "end-time" prophecies as well as ...

A must read for anyone wanting to improve
As posted previously, this book isn't about swing mechanics, but about playing smarter golf and being realistic about your game. I think this book would be extremely beneficial to the beginning golfer and would make a great gift. It's a quick read and well written. I try to read it a couple of times a year to remind myself to play within my abilities and keep a good attitude. Highly ...

Required reading for the health of your spirit
A powerful, emotionally driving book, "Why Forgive" provides a framework of forgiveness that not only defines why it is important to forgive, but also how not forgiving eats at us like a cancer until it kills our happiness and our very essence. With true life stories of amazing acts of forgiveness, the book shows how forgiveness is required before truly moving on to complete healing when you ...

Our finest American poet finally properly and comprehensively collected, with corrected chronology and annotations
More than the exiled Eliott, greater than Walt Whitman, consistently clearer than Ginsberg, more powerful than Pound, freer than Frost, more American than Wallace Stevens, moreso even than the mighty Merton, here at long last is our greatest American poet receiving over-due respect. A thick tome I purchased for my English learners which will instead fill my bed and my head for many cold and ...

A Cherished Addition to My Library
I LOVE this book so much because it is one woman's testimony of what GOD did & is doing with her-through her. HIS HOLY WORD IS TRUE! HE IS With Us, and just as HE did with the first Disciples of JESUS, THE HOLY SPIRIT still works with those who preach the Gospel with signs and wonders following, confirming THE WORD. I must confess, I don't have the book now - I gave it to my daughter. I ...

++ READ THIS FIRST ++ (Everything you ever wanted to know about German but didn't know where to look.)
This is an excellent book for those working on learning German. * HOWEVER * If you are like me and were never able to gain a firm grasp of the English language while in high school you should get this book and a book called "English Grammar for Students of German" to use along side of this one to help you understand the basics in basic terms. You generally need to have a decent grasp of the ...
