A Comprehensive Review for the Certification and Recertification Examinations for Physician Assistants: ...6 reviews
Claire Babcock O'Connell

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007

PANCE
This is all I used to study for the PANCE and it was worth every penny. I read several reviews that were not recommending this book but I strongly disagree. I paid a lot of money and attended a course in Chicago and I actually got more from reading this book. To be honest I read the book before I attended the review and learned nothing new at the review. Save your money on the course and buy this ...

Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews: Pharmacology, 4th Edition (Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews Series)51 reviews

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2008

Good book to have...
I am currently taking pharmacology, and this book compliments the course very well. If you worried about how in-depth this book goes, don't be. Almost everything we have talked about in class has been discussed in the BRS for Pharmacology. If it wasn't, then I can consult an online book through our library or simply google a topic. Cheap book for sufficient and effective learning.

Pocket Medicine: The Massachusetts General Hospital Handbook of Internal Medicine (Pocket Notebook Series)52 reviews
Marc S Sabatine

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007

Must have for medical students
Although the expectations for medical students are not that of residents and interns, this book is very helpful. Evidence-based medicine is the term heard over and over on the wards and this pocket book will help with that. When presenting a patient, you may be asked which study showed the effectiveness of which treatment. This book has it. It is updated with references as recent as 2007 ...

BRS Pharmacology (Board Review Series)5 reviews
Gary C Rosenfeld, David S Loose

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2006

An excellent book.
I was one of the few people in my medical school class that liked this book. I used it as a supplement to my class notes and pharmcards to study for pharmacology. I used it in addition to FirstAid to study for the boards. I found it to be excellent. I like the outline format. I found that it hit upon the pertain side effects and interactions, and I liked the organization. Mechanism of action ...

Lange Q&A for the Physician Assistant (Lange Q&a)6 reviews
Anthony A. Miller, Albert F. Simon

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2006

A good review book.
I purchased the Q and A book and used it in conjunction with the larger Appleton and Lange outline review book. I found doing the same chapters in both books simultaneously gave a good review. I also purchased th AAPA review for re-cert and did the pre-test CD about two months before the test. I probably wouldn't purchase all three again. It sets you back about $200. Yes there are occassional ...

BRS Behavioral Science (Board Review Series)3 reviews
Barbara Fadem

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2004

What makes it so great?
Taking this class in medical school was a breeze with this book. I read it cover to cover easily. The author is very good about keeping each individual chapter only a handful of pages long, but the text doesn't become too wordy or detailed. Diagrams are very well done, and it would be worth it to have this book for these alone. However, this book isn't the perfect reference. It is a little ...

I've just completed my RMA certification exam with a score of 97% and now have a great job as a Medical Assistant.I can honestly say that I attribute my success to having read and carefully studied this review book. Read all the material and complete each section of practice questions and you too will be on your way to success. The bonus CD with simulated exams was an extremely beneficial study ...

Appleton & Lange Outline Review for the Physician Assistant Examination5 reviews
Albert F. Simon, Anthony A. Miller

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2003

Great Review Book
I loved this book to study for end-of clinical rotation exams as well as boards. It is a general overview when you want a quick refresher, and has plenty of room in the margins to write notes. I got the outline review in combination with the Q&A book and feel they were very beneficial. I still pull out the outline review book every so often now that I am a practicing PA-C.

John B West

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007

Must have for Pulmonary Pathophysiology
This book is very concise and covers all of the necessary information for a Pulmonary Disease course. Also worthy of mention is the fact that is is the top selling book in the field in it's category. I find it perfect for a Respiratory Therapist, Medical Student, or Physician's Assistant due to the easy to learn format and clear writing style of the author. Also, rumor has it that West is ...

The Pregnancy Test43 reviews
Erin McCarthy

Kensington, 2005

Heartwarming, sexy and funny all in one!
I found myself cracking up so many times throughout this book. At the same time the book was sexy and pulled at your heartstrings. My only complaint is that I want to know more about what happens with Mandy & Damien. I felt the ending was a tad rushed, but I still loved the book. I actually read this through the library but I am planning on purchasing this book for my personal collection - I ...

Great book for testing knowledge
I used this book to study for my CNA exam. As an EMT-B from the Air Force, we are able to do a lot more than a CNA. In studying for this test, this book allowed me to understand and study for my CNA successfully. I had this book in addition to another one on skills. I aced my test thanks to this book!!
