Change in thinking for Performance Management
This book changed my thinking for Performance Management metrics. The distinction between Key Performance Indicators, Performance Indicators and Key Result Indicators was a revelation that helped me target key information to the people who need it most. The practical approach to developing metrics within an organization helps you quickly show results either within your own organization or with ...

The Bible of Scrum
I took over a $70M software line of business 3 years ago that was in a terrible mess. Projects that had been scheduled for 6 months were at 12 months, with 3 times the staff!!! Cost overruns, obviously, were through the roof. Since the team missed a major client deadline (in a regulated environment), everyone was under a high degree of stress. I called in the management team and asked them ...

This book is not just for technology people, and it's great
I don't do technology development, most of the work that I do is on the business side of the organization, understanding requirements through business process and business architecture (as described in the pages of the book Rethink). Starting as early as the foreword, there are great takeaways in every section of this book which is a very quick read. I will admit that I skimmed some of the ...

Best book on Heaven
Here are the significant contributions Alcorn made to my understanding of Heaven. One, it will incorporate the things of earth that I am familiar with, but better. Two, it will be a physical place (and spiritual). Three, resurrection means that God has always intended us to be creatures of soul and body. Four, the meaning of the new heaven and new earth in Revelation and Isaiah. I would ...

Undoubtedly a great book
Yet another great book by John MacArthur! I am a "fan" of John MacArthur and have read many of his books and listen to his online sermons. I received this book about three months ago and am currently reading it for the third time. John MacArthur uses scripture to explain difficult passages in the Bible concerning salvation and security of it. He has eleven "Biblical tests" that help you ...

Great High-Level Summary of Lean Six Sigma
Although I have been Lean Six Sigma practioner for many years, this book is a great summary of the philosophy/methodology. The authors don't waste time debating the different between the two methodsologies. They focus on how Lean Six Sigma can help organizations make improvements (on a high-level).

Excellent Cookbook for Balanced Scorecard
AN EXCELLENT COOKBOOK! Balanced Scorecard Being a traditional performance measurement tool, financial measures have their limitations: * Not consistent with today's business realities-value rests in the ideas not in the tangible assets * Driving by rearview mirror-excellent review of past but no way indicative of future * Tend to reinforce functional silos-statements prepared by ...

If you're getting the book for auditing classes
From what I hear from my professor & some other students in the class, there is an international version, which is almost identical. Although it's a lot cheaper, apparently, it's not supposed to be sold in the US, although it is readily available. Look for it through the grapevine.

How to use information to energize your goals and strategy.
Modern corporations collect vast amounts of data. Unfortunately, they too often mistake having massive amounts of data for having useful and actionable information. They are not the same thing. Comprehensive Textbook at Black Belt Level
I was surprised by the well balanced and complete coverage of the Six Sigma methodology from DMAIC, including managerial steps, all the way to statistics up through Design of Experiments. The all inclusive topics seem to parallel full Black Belt training. I would expect green belts to be offered selections from the book in a standard course. I would say no other book has this "textbooky" look ...
