Great Reference
Bought this for my fourth grader and she really likes it. The colorful photos are captivating and the links inspire them to want to look further into things. I would recommend this for a reference book or even a jumping off point to a self-made science curricula.

great book
This looks like an older version of a book that I bought at www.suesbooks.info. I'm not sure if it is the same, but they are great books. It is full of pictures and lots of information, but it makes it simple and easy to understand. If you want them to learn about the body, this is a great book. Doctors don't become doctors overnight.

CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title for 2004 and Winner of the 2004 Best Book Award presented by the Conflict Processes section of the American Political Science Association (APSA) The authors of this ambitious book address a fundamental political question: why are leaders who produce peace and prosperity turned out of office while those who preside over corruption, war, and misery endure? Considering this political puzzle, they also answer ...

Lots of fun!
We let the kids flip through this book and choose which design they wanted on their face. They had a great time and were also able to understand that with patience the end product would look (at least somewhat) like the picture in the book. They had a great time.

Excellent kids science book
This book covers digestion in short, interesting facts with clear illustrations. There is just enough "grossness" to delight an elementary-aged child. Probably too long to read the whole thing to a 5 or 6 year old, but you could read a few sections. An older-elementary aged kid who was interested in science or medicine would love this book.

A class favorite
I borrowed this book for my 8th grade art class and ended up buying it because it was a class favorite. The color drawings are compelling and kids lined up to have it to work with. It has a large variety of topics covered and although it isn't "step-by-step", it is close enough with the breadth and variety of examples being worth every penny.

Appealing and instructive
A surprising amount of detail and many good suggestions are packed into this slender book which not only makes suggestions for local map-making but also introduces the work of cartographers, the appeal of old maps, and the variety of areas mapped on earth and in the heavens. There are even suggestions for map games and treasure hunts. Sixth graders return to it again and again.

Punishing the Prince: A Theory of Interstate Relations, Political Institutions, and Leader Change

When the United States invaded Iraq, President Bush made it clear: the U.S. was not fighting the Iraqi people. Rather, all quarrels were solely with Iraq's leadership. This kind of assertion remains frequent in foreign affairs--sanctions or military actions are imposed on a nation not because of its people, but because of its misguided leaders. Although the distinction might seem pedantic since the people suffer regardless, Punishing the Prince ...

Great Book!
I recently got this book for my post-doctoral studies and I have to say, its great. A good mix of the theoretical and practical aspects of single-molecule experimentation. I really appreciate the level of detail that Smith and Co. put into this book. Bring on the single molecules!
