The Perfect Poison47 reviews

Jove, 2009

Loved it!
Since I've decided to buy a bunch of the Arcane Society books as CD audiobooks, I really like them. As far as reading them, they are not really my style, but in this instance, listening to Anne Flosnik tell the tale makes all the difference. I felt as if I was transported to England and everything made sense for that time period. The Perfect Poison is a great story. I love the little intellectual ...

Bantam, 2010

Great book!!
I love these 1-title books from Amanda Quick. I know they are not a series, but each book has some similarities, but she always keeps it fresh!

The Third Circle43 reviews

Jove, 2008

Burning Lamp/Third Circle
I have been reading Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick/Jayne Castle since she began writing. She's only improved the suspense and intrigue through time. I love the entwining stories of the Arcane/paranormal the best. I enjoy revisiting with characters from previous books a great deal and love that she has been thoughtful enough to create a society where they pop in and out of one anothers stories. If ...

Mistress37 reviews

Bantam, 2009

I'm not going to be picky.
I can be quite picky when doing a review of a romance novel and I am not going to do that with this book because I finally got almost everything I have asked for in the past from authors. (Is it being picky to say that the heroines name was almost impossible for me to pronounce? I gave her the nickname of Ginny and moved on.) This is a book where the hero (Marcus) actually talked to the ...

Ravished62 reviews

Bantam, 2009

ONE OF MY FEW FIVE STARS---
A fun creative story, loveable characters who can really produce sparks, laugh-out-loud moments, a mystery that you think you've got figured out but you're not quite sure, and a "good feeling" at the end...my dream list for a book. Few succeed, this one did. It had a few moments that were monotonous and/or drawn out, but not enough to take anything away.

Mischief27 reviews

Bantam, 2010

Amanda Quick's most engaging book!
I'm an avid Amanda Quick reader and usually can finish her books in two days while still functioning in life and doing the usual mundane day-to-day things. Such was not the case with _Mischief_, I absolutely *could not* put this book down -- I finished it in one day. Not only are the characters amazing, the plot moved along at such a wonderfully fast pace that I didn't even realize time was ...

Second Sight63 reviews

Jove, 2006

VERY good to read...
I was very impressed with this work and read her later books because of it. Too bad the others were not nearly as interesting as this one. Great characters!

The Paid Companion71 reviews

Jove, 2005

A Solid and Intriguing Historical Mystery
Arthur Lancaster is the Earl of St. Merryn and he has a problem. His fiancee has run off. The next time he has a go at it, he say, he'll just hire a paid companion, which he does and it keeps society at bay while he does his business. The woman he hired, Elenora Lodge, got into the paid companion biz, because her step-father wasted away her inheritance. She plays her part so well that nobody ...

Reckless18 reviews

Bantam, 2010

Fast paced romantic adventure in a historical background
RecklessIf you haven't read Amanda Quick this is a great book to start with. I was entranced from the very beginning of this entertaining historical romance. There is plenty of suspense, humor, romantic moments, and action to make any reader happy. I couldn't put it down I read it in one night. The heroine has a handicap that her family tends to overprotect her about but she goes about ...

my thoughts
This series is so much fun to read, well written and Jayne Ann Krentz's vivid imagination makes the day!

Lie by Moonlight39 reviews

Jove, 2006

Not one of her best
This Quick novel, although I did like it enough to read it the whole way through, did not contain the same suspense as some of her better novels. The ending was only minimally surprising and the plot was enough to keep someone interested, but not enough to be DRAWN to the book at all. Much of the time I felt like, "Oh, I guess I'll read that now..."

Desire33 reviews

Bantam, 2009

GOOD STORY IN EVERYWAY
I really enjoyed reading this book. I have been reading Lysay Sands for sometime so this was a nice change for me. I enjoyed the characters which seemed like real people and the story line was different. It was sweet, sexy, and a little humorous with a bit of fistiness. I will read more of Amanda Quicks books and I do recommend this book. I hope she has more that are equal or better than this ...

Rendezvous18 reviews

Bantam, 2010

Rendezvous
Amanda Quick has always fascinated me because she is a writer of so many different types of novels. This novel is a historical novel with a twist. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. What a wonderful version on CD.

Deception30 reviews

Bantam, 2009

A RARE 5 STAR---
This book was not only fun to read but unfolded itself like a moving picture without much repetition. The characters were delightful with a hint of quirkiness that made them like a lovable member of the family. The story remained entertaining throughout and I found myself wishing it wouldn't end.

Slightly Shady73 reviews

Bantam, 2007

Exceptional Mysterious Historical Romance
You can read about the storyline from the other reviewers and if you are looking for just another bunch of love scenes in your romance this is not the book for you. It has some great steaminess about it, but this novel is much more. Quick's characters (both main and secondary) are extremely lovable in all 3 books (this is the first in this series) and you will enjoy their mannerisms and sense ...

Wait Until Midnight23 reviews

Jove, 2005

Enjoy Over and Over
Quick intoduces Caroline and Adam to each other in such a bazaar manner, that you see Quick's creativity and taste the ironical in a most entertaining way. This book is best enjoyed on the unabridged Audio CD, in case you missed it in the book. Quick deviates from her simple sweet humorous though quick paced style to murder, suspense and intrigue with a dash of humor. The development of this ...
