Didnt want it to end!!
I want to start by saying that I really dont like when people keep asking Anne Rice to write another vampire book. She can write whatever she chooses to...plain and simple. Maybe it was ok years ago when she first announced she would only write for the Lord. But it's pretty much certain at this point she will not return to those days of vampires and witches. That said, I love love this book. I ...

Decent addition to the Vampire Chronicles
If you've enjoyed previous installments to the Vampire Chronicles, this book should not disappoint you. Armand - a minor yet important character previously appearing in Interview with the Vampire and the Vampire Lestat - now tells his story in this novel. It is explained how he came to be part of the underworld vampires (poor kid) and before that, how he came to live with Marius. While not the ...

Not to be missed by vampire fans!
I think I read Interview with the Vampire a few years ago and just never got around to the Vampire Lesatat and so on. Well, when I ran across this book, I had to get it. And I totally fell in love with Lestat. He's the complete antithesis of Louis! However, both novels are top notch horror/vampire stories and Anne Rice is a masterful story teller. She knows how to write and she knows how to draw ...

Very good Xrated read
I was very very pleased with this book. The condition was good for the price and it was well written. It was exactly what i expected and more. This is not a book for anyone under the age of 18 or anyone who does not like bdsm. I would have to say it is one of the best books I read this year.

Vampires with Historical Reference...Delicious!
Before posting my review, I read a few of the others, and realize that the very things I love about this book are the things the unhappy readers hate about it. Namely, the long, lush descriptions of the locations and the pages-long inner monologue of the POV character. Personally, Rice put me into the scene with her descriptive method and into the hearts and minds of her characters with their ...

Awesome, simply awesome
This is the first time I've read anything by Anne Rice. I simply was not interested in the subject matter. Browsing a library, I noticed this title and it just jumped out at me. After reading the work, I can see why Rice is such a popular author. I absolutely loved reading the story of Christ's early life she has imagined. The stories she inputs are taken largely from the Bible, including ...

The Witching Hour.
Besides her vampire novels, this is my favorite Anne Rice book. I love reading about witches and the like and she really draws you into the story of the Mayfair witches and Lasher. I was creeped out and also intrigued as I read, to say the least. Ms. Rice really knows how to make the book suspensful enough to keep reading, that's for sure! I highly recommend this one. It's a classic, in my ...

Memnoch the Devil, a different view of worlds creation
This is my favorite book by Anne Rice. Her view of worlds creation is refreshing and leaves you thinking for weeks ahead. In this book she is writing such a fantastic journey that in the end you feel so drawn into the storytelling that it makes you think twice about life, love and human creation. I read this book in 3 days and was unable to put it down. I have given it to several friends who ...

Best book Ever
This book needs to be made into a movie. The Mayfairs mixed with Lestat is an adreneline rush that keeps moving.

Beautiful, moving but not sentimental
I loved this book (even better than Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt). It was full of description, historical background was well-developed, and the speculative biography of the Christ absolutely wonderful. It's a tall order, and Anne Rice has done it well. I cannot wait for the next volume in this series.

A must read!!!! The Mayfair witches are a fascinating family and it's wonderful to read about where Lasher came from.

Surprisingly Good Story for a Recent Anne Rice Book
While her earlier vampire and witch novels were masterpieces, the later ones turned me off of Anne Rice for far too long. I can't believe that I waited so long to read this one, one of the very best novels she has ever written. It's true that Lestat is a bit one dimensional in this one, but he's really beside the point in Blackwood Farm. This novel starts from scratch, carving out an entire new ...

Excellent addition to the vampire chronicles and the mayfair witches. Sexy, dark and suspensful. Fun for the veteran Anne Rice fan as well as a good place to dive in for the new fan.

Walk with Anne out of spiritual darkness into the Light of a relationship with Christ
Called Out of Darkness is a beautifully written book of one woman's journey to a personal relationship with Jesus as her Lord and Savior. An intimate story that isn't overly syrupy and does not justify any of the personal choices author Anne Rice has made in life makes this book very readable to a vast audience that might not otherwise pick up a testimonial book of this type. Her descriptions ...

It would have been enough...
The Vampire Lestat was the first Anne Rice book I ever read. I did read a few others afterward to follow the characters, but this one stole my heart. Lestat is the reason why. Lestat enjoyed being a vampire. He did not loathe his lot in life but embraced it. Yes, that is immoral and disgustingly psychopathic, but hey--that's fiction. And frankly, that's escapism at its best. Who wants to slip ...

Read this one.
I love Anne Rice and I think she is a top notch erotica author. Having said that, this sequel to the first, Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, is a joy to read. It's almost better than the first book, if that is possible. I really got into the story and didn't want it to end--good thing there's a sequel to this one! (Three books in total.) If you like bdsm fiction and hot erotica, do not overlook this ...

The best in the series.
The other two were great, but I thought the conclusion was the best in the series. I was glad things were tied up and though I was sad to see it go, I had fun while it lasted! Anne Rice is a top notch writer and she should be applauded for her efforts at writing bdsm, some of which can be a bit trying, to say the least. This one, however, goes on the permanent bookshelf, or in the ...
