Strange title, but a fun book.
This was a gift from a media friend of ours. She knows I stay in the car and read when my wife shops. So this is more a car book than a bathroom book. It is fun and there are so many sections in so many categories and covers most of the great stars. The only complaint I would make is that there are some great ones only given a sentence or not mentioned at all. A sequel to this book is ...

A very good book
This is an above average volume in a overall good series. I enjoy historical trivia and have several other books like this one. But this book still managed to have dozens of interesting biographical anecdotes I hadn't read before.

Great Book
This is a great bathroom book! I have learned so much from my trips to the bathroom now. Everyone that comes over and has to use my bathroom now has to know where to find this book because they have to have it. It's great for all that "everything you ever needed to know but never thought about" kind of stuff.

Trenton Makes, The World Takes
So far, about half way through the book and I find the acticles as good or better than the General BR series. I love American History, and this book is quite an addictive read! Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein would be proud, as they are both written about as New Jersey residents.

May be too good for the bathroom...
I'm not, by nature, overly impressed with trivia books. I enjoy them at times, but I rarely consider them "page-turners", which is why they are often considered great choices for bathroom reading material. This collection is a welcome exception! History is a fascinating field, something more people need to realize but few can grasp after years of stale high school history lessons. This book has a ...

Uncle John rocks
We own this entire series (or at least the ones I can get my hands on) and love them. My son will not enter the bathroom without one in hand. We are a homeschooling family, so I take learning anywhere I can get it.

Great book
As an avid BRI reader, I was really looking forward to this book. It has lived up to all my expectations. If anyone is interested in national parks in the US and Canada, this is "must" reading.

A fun book for cat lovers
I've enjoyed the other Uncle John's Bathroom Readers and this one made a wonderful gift for my cat-loving mother! I've enjoyed browsing through it in her, um, facilities, and I find the stories fascinating. Great literature it isn't, but it is perfect for those who love cats and only have a few minutes at a time to read!

the ultimate guy book
The husband starts telling me that the heart isn't really on the left side of the chest, it's just that the left ventricle is bigger, and why it developed that way. How did he acquire this arcane knowledge? Uncle John's "Plunges Into the Universe," of course. My husband loves this book. I got it for him as gift (an entirely successful gift), and he keeps showing me things. Math Mnemonics: ...

Minnesota Trivia and interesting facts and history
Worth every penny! I really enjoyed reading about important events and people in Minnesota history. Very well written and not boring facts one after another. Lots of variety with even a crossword puzzle. I especially enjoyed the history of the large department store Daytons.

Midwest Handbook
Having moved to Chicago from NYC last summer, I found this book essential reading. You'll learn why Midwesterners call soda "pop", what the difference is between northern and southern Michigan, and how the prohibition law relates to Canadian "trade". A must read for all history enthusiasts, as good as or better than the Bathroom Reader general article series. I also enjoy the New Jersey book and ...

Great Book for the Crapper - Buy for Your Crapper Time
This is one great book for reading the short thoughtful and sometimes very funny, and perhaps even serious stories while in the bathroom. I usually read it a story at a time when evacuating myself (if you know what I mean... and NO, you cannot ask for pictures). The stories and text seems to be perfected timed and written to allow for the initial sit down, to push, to rest, to push, to ...

Another great for the best series around!
All right, I admit it, I'm a rather biased hardcore fan of the series. ;) For those who are unfamilliar with Uncle John's Bathroom Readers, they are a series of books with articles of various lengths for people who love to read on the 'john'! They're filled with interesting tidbits of history, pop culture, humor, and trivia. From this edition you'll learn that bird droppings are the chief ...

Absolutely fabulous book.. to be read again and again
I bought this book for my husband last year as a Christmas gift.. it is STILL in our bathroom. We have read and re-read it time and again. This year I'm getting another one. It makes a great gift and believe it or not.. very interesting conversations. Oh ya, and tons of laughs! definately 5 stars.. if not higher.

A bowl-side companion
The UNCLE JOHN'S BATHROOM READER series presents collections of one- and two- page trivia that are perfect for reading when diversion is required. The PLUNGES INTO TEXAS volume focuses on a wide range of Texas lore, covering history, celebrity, food, politics, travel, and other bizarre bits of esoteric information.
