Daemon World (Warhammer 40,000 Novels)4 reviews
Ben Counter

Games Workshop, 2009

WOW! AN EPIC WORLD DESTROYER!
Man, Ben Counter is one visual masterpiece monster writer. This has got to be one of the all-time eye opening, jaw-dropping novels of the year. Not only was I immensely drawn into the book by it's deliciously and devilishly looking cover and interesting synopsis, but catapulted into a universe and world of monstrous proportions. This is some story. If you think this is a bad read - then you are ...

Galaxy in Flames (Horus Heresy)24 reviews
Ben Counter

Games Workshop, 2006

THIS IS CRAZY!!!!!!!
I am an avid reader of fantasy and science fiction and I can tell you there is no sci-fi like the Horus Heresy. This series is loaded with awesome descriptions of brutal combat. The conversations between characters are philosophical. Reading this is more entertaining than watching a great movie or playing your favorite video game.

Dark Adeptus (Grey Knights)5 reviews

Games Workshop, 2006

Not as Good as the First One....but What Is?
I really enjoyed this book. The Grey Knights are my favorite Space Marine Chapter in the Black Library, and this is a fantastic book. The Dark Adeptus have never appeared in any story before this novel(at least to my knowledge), but I had some issues with them. It just seemed like they are not really evil enough. I was expecting something a little more dark. Also, the Grey Knights themselves did ...

The Soul Drinkers Omnibus (Warhammer 40,000 Novels)14 reviews
Ben Counter

Games Workshop, 2006

A Different Take on the Imperium
Ben Counter is my favorite of the Warhammer 40k authors, and after reading the Grey Knights series I was obligated to buy the Soul Drinkers Omnibus. I loved the first book, Soul Drinker, it was an entertaining adventure that depicted the Imperium as it truly is, a corrupt organization sacrificing billions to ensure humanity's place in the galaxy. The action sequences are thrilling and the ...

Hammer of Daemons (Grey Knights)8 reviews
Ben Counter

Games Workshop, 2008

Back on track
In GREY KNIGHTS, the first book in this series, the reader was introduced to Justicar Alaric of the Imperium's superhuman daemonslayers. The Space Marine chapter that works closely with the Inquisition to quash the particularly tough servents of Chaos (for the layman, that's the bad guys), the Grey Knights are as cool as Space Marines get. The first book in the series had some weird parts, but ...

Horus Heresy: Battle for the Abyss (Horus Heresy)25 reviews
Ben Counter

Games Workshop, 2008

Another great chapter in the HH History
Many people don't realize the actual scope of the Horus Heresy, it took years for the plots to thicken and unfold. Many of the stories actually happen in the same time frames, so readers think "this book has nothing to do with the HH", or "I don't understand why this book ended with a cliffhanger". This is a "Historical" account of many events leading up and explaining what happened to lead up ...

Soul Drinker5 reviews
Ben Counter

Black Library, 2002

Don't overlook this one...
This book is about the "Soul Drinkers" Space marine chapter. The story starts off w/ the Soul Drinkers assualting a space station run by rich & corrupt family; the Van Skorvolds. The reason for this assualt?? To recover a ancient artifact that had been stolen from the Soul Drinkers hundreds of years prior. But, the Imperium and Adeptus Mechanicus have other plans for the space station and the ...

Those who are simply looking for an action adventure set in Games Workshop's 40K universe - or those who enjoyed the first two Soul Drinkers novels - will like this book as well. The Bleeding Chalice (Warhammer 40,000)4 reviews
Ben Counter

Games Workshop, 2003

The dead have risen! To read this book!
Like Ben Counter's previous novel, Soul Drinker, this is a great novel for fans of the 40k universe. Brutal, over-the-top violence fills nearly every page, and the huge scope of events gives the novel an epic feel. Having been excommunicated from the Imperium, the Soul Drinkers continue to wage war against Chaos, as well as their former masters in the Empire. Their impossible goal is to save ...
