Mrs. Mike is an excellent book that gives the reader an idea of the hardships and joys endured by brave pioneers in Canada near the turn of the 19th century. It is realistic, and also hard to put down once one has started it. It makes one aware of the easy life we have today as compared with the life of those who fought to live in very difficult circumstances.
