Perfect
I am not a professional photographer, just so we get that out of the way. I recently graduated from a point and shoot digital camera that, while better than any camera I had owned previously, was not the nice unit I have now. I also have three little girls who are photogenic. Now, I have a book that has turned me into a better photographer of children. It was so easy to understand, so ...

Exactly what I was looking for!
I'm about 3/4 of the way through the first time, making a few notes as I go. This book is exactly what I was looking for. I'm a technically competent camera user. I've done dark room work in the past, and PhotoShop more currently. I'm an aging geek and amateur photographer and can handle the technology end just fine. I can recognize a good shot when I see one, but I've never done "People ...

Excellent book
This is an excellent book including both technical and creative information. What most impresses me about this book is that it is not "dumbed down". I also think it is geared toward the more intermediate level audience. Itt is not a beginner or primer book. You should already be doing some portraiture work to get the most out of this book. Lots of beautiful sample photos and their camera settings ...

Simple lighting equals natural images
A book that steers away from complex lighting situations and enters the realm of lighting techniques in a more basic form. Advantages of this philosophy are outlined and examples to reinforce are illustrated throughout. A nice characteristic of such a style of lighting is that it does not matter if you are working in or out of the studio. A lot of good information that is clearly written make ...
