Best books for Pre-schoolers
I have purchased the first 2 sets of the Bob books for my granddaughter. She is 5 years old and can read these books on her own. I purchased this book with the CD to help her. She listens and reads along with it in the car. She has been reading for almost a year now. She was in a private pre-school last year. This year she is in public kindergarden and she is the only student reading.

BOB's great!
I teach Kindergarten, and these little books are just perfect for beginning readers. Also, although the pictures are very simple line drawings, the text and drawings are clever and often humorous.

Excellent early Kindergarten reading!
The series has been renumbered yet again. The new ISBN for the first set is 0439845009. Bob Books come in 5 sets on 3 levels, and they cover the fundamentals of reading through about half of the Kindergarten level, which is lower than either of the other programs. Each set contains 8-12 books for the child to read, with a line or two of text per page. Unlike many programs, there is little ...

Great Head Start!
I love these Bob books. I bought sets 1-5. My boys are still on the first box and they are cruising right through. Kindergarten and first grade. It is GREAT to find a set that introduces new word families and then reinforces them. You won't be disappointed. The drawings are so simple but my kids really do relate.

Terrific beginning readers
These books are awesome in that they gently elevate the child to greater and greater difficulty in reading, consistently and slowly. There are no huge gaps in complexity, no wondering if this book is too difficult or too easy. Each set naturally progresses to the next, and the overall series ends with the child being comfortably able to process easy readers from the library. Both of my ...

My 5 year old Grandson can read!!!
I bought this because he is going to begin Kindergarten and I was told that the "BOB Books" are what will be used in his school. He read the first story and was SO excited that he could do it. This is wonderful... can't wait until he visits again and gets to try more of the stories.

Training the Brain
I am a Special Education teacher. I help children with learning disabilities (K-5) learn to read. I don't think there are words for how highly I want to reccommend these books to parents and other educators. These books are PHONICS based and they are systematic and sequential. They help train a child's brain to see the patterns in the english language. Learning these patterns is how children ...

must buy for the beginner reader!
must buy for the beginner reader! My son is 5 and NOW can read all of the Bob books. He really loves them and we don't have to "make" him read them. I highly recommend the entire Bob Book collection.

AMAZING!
My son just started Kindergarten about 3 months ago, he just turned six. I had taught him chess, and many other logical skills (I'm an engineer) but neglected to nurture his reading needs. After his first semester review I was shocked to find out that he was struggling with is site words. The day I got home from his school I ordered all the Bob's Books. My son started reading them almost ...

The ultimate easy reader series...Bobs books sets1-2-3
Alot of easy readers are boring to kids. My daughter has found the Bobs books series interesting and FUNNY, from the very first book. The books are written by a teacher and so there is a logical phonetic progression from book to book. The pictures are so cute, line drawings illustrate every page. Each little booklet is just long enough, giving the child just enough challenge. WHen my ...

jump start for the young reader
my daughter started reading bob books before she turned four. she loves them because it systematically teaches her the tougher words using illustrative pictures and repetitive and rhyming words. the books are just the right size and page length making her feel proud that she has completed them.

Unique
Most books that claim to be "easy readers" require a first-second grade reading level. Bob Books start out at a much lower level. To read book 1 the child must know only "m" "a" "t" and "s." I have seen no other readers that start at such a basic level. My children love the characters and feel so good about their reading ability. Only Bob Books afford them the feeling of accomplishment ...
