Fiona the Flower Girl1 review
Carley Roney, Knot Magazine Editors

Chronicle Books, 2008

Decent book, but too simplistic
I came upon this book while looking for a book to give to my flower girl. I found it ok, but too simplistic. It is written from the perspective of Fiona, an 8 year old who has been asked to be a flower girl in her aunt's wedding. It tries to be a step-by-step guide for flower girls, but it really lacks a plot. The best part, in my opinion, is the flower necklace that comes with the book ...

The Knot Guide to Destination Weddings5 reviews
Carley Roney, Joann Gregoli

Clarkson Potter, 2007

Fantastic Book!!!
This book is GREAT! It gave me a ton of great ideas and advice on how to plan a successful destination wedding. I've received a lot of positive feedback from my invited guests on every bit of advice I implemented. Things like adding some local currency in the save-the-dates and presenting the wedding as a organized and professional dream vacation have helped more guests commit to attending. ...

The Knot Book of Wedding Flowers16 reviews
Carley Roney

Chronicle Books, 2002

Great basic guide for brides!
I found this book useful in that it was simple, straight forward guide to the most common flowers used in weddings. The first half is essentially a glossary of flowers. It provides basic information that made it easy to compare flowers: photo, meaning, colors available, when in season, and price range. The book also provides information on bouquet styles, color schemes, and flower arrangments, ...

The Knot Guide For The Mother of the Bride4 reviews
Carley Roney

Chronicle Books, 2005

Must for Mom
My mom had so many questions about what she was supposed to do as the MOB, so I purchased this book for her. She LOVES it! I have not read it, but she is always referring to it. She says that it addresses all sorts of issues and had been extremely helpful. She has recommended it for one of her friends who is also a MOB.

The Nest Newlywed Handbook: An Owner's Manual for Modern Married Life14 reviews
Carley Roney

Clarkson Potter, 2006

A True Handbook
My fiancee and I have very good communication skills and we still found topics in this book that we hadn't discussed and needed to discuss. I also found very good advise on dealing with Mother-in-laws that has really helped me with my relationship with my soon-to-be Mother-in-law. I highly recommend this book to newly engaged couples that need to have some serious conversations about finances, ...

The Knot's Complete Guide to Weddings36 reviews

A TOP-NOTCH, MUST-HAVE BOOK FOR WEDDING PLANNING!
I have had two daughters walk down the aisle and one left to go. The tips and information contained within this book will be a valuable help to anyone who is planning that all important day. The book is not just for the bride and her family, but for the groom as well. So often the groom sincerely wants to help, but a good number are uncertain of what their role is except to show up for the ...

Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner1 review

BANTAM DOUBLEDAY @ DELL, 1980

Only if you want to rip your hair out
It does not take a 200 page book to help you plan a wedding. If you read the entire book you will feel exhausted, bewildered, and claustrophobic. I bought a used copy and know why someone resold it. After two wedding checklists they got rid of it. If you want to be a Bridezilla and have your family and friends disown for making them memorize their cheat sheets go ahead and follow the book to ...

Forever and A Day

Edition Stemmle, 1999

Compelling black-and-white (and a few color) images capture the unexpected in a way formal wedding photography never can. By presenting people in an unusual way--from above, from behind, from the neck down, in a moment of unrehearsed contemplation--Phillipe Cheng moves out of the realm of the posed wedding portrait and turns many of his subjects into figurative sculpture. With no text beyond a brief introduction, this is not a guide or a lesson ...

The Knot Book of Wedding Gowns5 reviews

best book I've seen
Great pictures and good explanations of how to shop for and what to look for in a gown. It helps you understand why they cost so much!

The Knot Guide for the Groom1 review
Carley Roney

Chronicle Books, 2005

Better books out there...
I did my homework before my recent wedding and bought three books. This one is pretty basic and didn't cover anything I couldn't find out easily online or through friends. For better resources I recommend Esquire's Things a Man Should Know About Marriage and The Engaged Groom. Both are more comprehensive, fun to read, and speak to guys better than this.
