Haunter7 reviews
Charlee Jacob

Leisure Books, 2003

You know...
...just when I think I've written something really transgressive, something new by Charlee Jacob appears and takes me to school. However,a lesson from this particular teacher is always welcome. HAUNTER is brilliant, period. It contains passages that made me utter "Oh my GOD..." out loud. HAUNTER is wondrous, but don't assume you're ever going to want to eat again after you read it.

Still1 review
Charlee Jacob

Necro Publications, 2007

Licking the emulsion and tasting still life
If you've read anything by Jacobs, there is no point in outlining the wonders that lie in wait here. If you haven't, I have a hard time rapping words around the arcane magic of beauty and horror that this wonderful lady weaves. As usual for her, a simple synopsis is not easy to pull off, as we follow three apparently distinct tales. However, unlike some of her other works, this is one comes ...

Charlee Jacob

Jacob is brilliant
Charlee Jacob revels in beautiful descriptions of gore, and vivid characters that seem as real as anyone you've ever met. All the stories here are wonderful, particularly "Fire." This lady knows how to write.

This Symbiotic Fascination12 reviews
Charlee Jacob

Leisure Books, 2002

Good stuff.
Charlee Jacob, This Symbiotic Fascination (Leisure Books, 1997) Whatever else This Symbiotic Fascination is (and it is many things), one word I see applied to it many times that it really isn't is "original." Fans of extreme horror (the term "splatterpunk" is far too overused and far too inaccurate; this is more Guinea Pig than Neuromancer) who have been reading Bob Deveraux's stuff for the past ...

Skins of Youth2 reviews
Charlee Jacob, Mehitobel Wilson

Necro Publications, 2002

Lovely chapbook of vampiric and expectorating madness
There are two stories in Skins Of Youth, the first "Immortality" by Charlee Jacob is the tale of a young circus acrobat longing to become one of the Vampires in his Grandmother's strange tales. Along his search and active intentions to kill himself, he discovers a strange family secret about his mother, why she went missing years ago, and the truth about Grandma's traveling, pickup-bed herb ...

Dread in the Beast: The Novel2 reviews
Charlee Jacob

Necro Publications, 2007

Dread in the Beast--the novel, by Charlee Jacob
What is it about bodily waste that fascinates Charlee Jacob so much? I hope I never know. But this obsession does provide some interesting reading, so who's complaining? In her latest novel, DREAD IN THE BEAST, she revisits that world she first explored in her 1998 novella of the same name, only this time, instead of the truncated version, she spills it all, going into great detail in the lives ...

Dark Moods1 review
Charlee Jacob

Wilder Publications, 2007

Pitch Black Fantasy
This is not really a vampire novel. I wanted to get this out right away because it being labelled as such by the publisher kept me away for a while, even though I consider myself a huge fan of Charlee Jacob. Vampires are just not my kind of monster. But like I said, this is not a vampire novel or if it is it's quite a stretch to put in that genre. DARK MOODS is set in a few thousand years ...

Punktown: Third Eye3 reviews

Prime, 2004

What a collection!
Apart from Thomas' own entry, this collection sports unqualified masterpiece proems from Charlee Jocob and T.A. Hughes; an astounding story from industrial fiction pioneer Simon logan; and a hip take on the Faustian bargain for rock superstardom from Jonathan Lyons.

Infernally Yours1 review
Edward Lee, Brian Keene, ...

Necro Publications, 2009

Truly an evil masterpiece!
If you've ever wondered ,what a hardcore Ed Lee Infernal story would be like, then look no further. THE SENARY is sickening tale of debauchery, and suprisingly enough a satanic lottery winner. It also has a suprise guest in it,but I won't give that one away, you'll have to pick it up for yourself. The other stories are also good, my second favorite being THEN SHALL THE REIGN OF LUCIFER END. ...

More Fungi From Yuggoth
Tim Curran, Charlee jacob, ...

L'Image Studios/Arkham Press, 2000

Description: Far in the outer cosmos, past the starry voids, lies fabled Yuggoth; a strange, gray world out of space and out of time. It is a world where the land lies shadowed and vaporous, where trees bear strange fruit and the denizens there fly on alien, powerful wings which have a way of resisting ether. / Now, inspired by this otherworld created by the legendary H.P. Lovecraft comes an all-new collection of poem and prose. Within its ...

Guises5 reviews
Charlee Jacob

Delirium Books, 2002

The Wicked World of Charlee Jacob
After discovering Charlee Jacob through her gore-soaked vampire novel, "This Symbiotic Fascination," it seemed stupid to wait until the release of her second novel sometime next year without dipping into more of this excellent author's horrific writings. "Guises" is a worthy collection of vintage Charlee: a series of gruesome short stories written in lofty prose not normally found in the horror ...

Sineater2 reviews
Charlee Jacob

Cyber-Pulp Press, 2005

Brilliant!
It's a rare novelist who can write a satisfying novella, and rarer still a a novelist/novella writer who can create poetry that stirs the breast and feeds the head. This unbelievable collection of dark spells in poetic form are pure witchery in the form of language. A mystical shroud of subterranean desires interlaces these poems that each seems drawn from an inner well of bleak emotions that ...
