Keep 'Em Coming
It's getting harder and harder to come up with new things to say that will convey how much I enjoy reading these old Peanuts strips. This comes from a period where I am less familiar with the strips themselves, so there are some surprises for me. In this volume we find the strips that will be the inspiration for the animated special, Snoopy Come Home, in which we find out Snoopy has an owner ...

Never had an equal
For those of us who grew up in the 1960's Peanuts was the paragon of subtle wit and insight into our cultural minds. We could live vicariously in the dancing of Snoopy, his triumphs over the Red Baron, and his material excesses(a house with a Van Gogh, no less). We could sigh along with Charlie Brown, philospophize with Linus, and argue with Lucy. This collection continues the daily ...

High quality, gift for my son
These heirloom quality, hardbound books are well received by my middle school aged son. Peanuts has a timeless feel, and the complete run in these books are a great tribute to this comic. I am buying all of the books in sequence for my son, and I think they will be enjoyed forever.

More Please!
After nine previous volumes, this volume, volume 10, brings Peanuts into my lifetime. It was fun to read my birthday strip which has Linus and Charlie Brown discussing the fact that one more forfeit will put their baseball team in first place. For some reason, I find this comforting. In any case, for those of us who really enjoy Peanuts, there is plenty to enjoy from 1969 and 1970. Two ...

The 60's come to a close in style with the Peanuts gang
'741.5 SCH' That may be gibberish to some, but to me, it was the dewey-decimal system location of the Peanuts strips in my Elementary school library. I really gained my love of Peanuts from those library-bound books, but always remembered coming back to 'The Peanuts Jubilee,' which was (at the time) the only way to find insight into the earlier strips. With Fantagraphic Books, we've been able ...

It's a Dog's Life, Snoopy7 reviews
Charles M. Schulz

Ballantine Books, 2001

This is a great book!
This wonderful book contains 168 pages of Peanuts cartoons, and all of them are in color! All of these 1998 cartoons are reproduced in wonderful quality, and are a joy to read. Snoopy's brothers (Spike, Olaf and Andy) are here, including Spike spending time in the trenches of World War I! Also, in this book, we get to learn where the zambonis go at night, see Snoopy at Valley Forge, and see ...

Little book
This book is very small, but hardcover. My kids enjoyed the story anyway and got them to read it without a fight because it was so little. Still had 30 pages though, I believe. Anyway, cute little book - just get it when it's on sale for $1 like I did.

How consistant can you get?
This volume of The Complete Peanuts cover the years 1961 and 1962 in their entireties. The most noteworthy event of this book is the introduction of Frieda, the girl with the "naturally curly hair". Soon after her debut, the running gag where Frieda tries to get Snoopy to chase rabbits is used for the first time. Also introduced at this time was Frieda's cat Faron, who only made a few ...

A Charlie Brown Christmas: The Making of a Tradition18 reviews
Lee Mendelson, Bill Melendez

Collins, 2000

Christmas time is here... happiness and cheer...
"Charlie Brown Christmas" is the crown jewel of Christmas specials. Heavy on holiday introspection, but with the dry wit and humor you'd come to expect from Charles Schulz's creations. "A Charlie Brown Christmas: The Making of a Tradition" just expands that experience, by outlining how the famed special came to be -- the music, the animation, the voice acting, even the advertisement to get ...

Good Old Charlie Brown!
I am so excited that The Complete Peanuts is being made available. I started with the first volume and have gotten each new volume. Charles Schulz was a master of understatement and pathos. HIs view of the world through the characters--Charlie Brown, Lucy and Linus, Snoopy and the rest--is honest and real: skeptical, funny, pitiful and hopeful and very humanistic.

Let's cuddle up with in security blanket.
This edition of The Complete Peanuts covers the years 1963 and 1964. Probably the most significant event during this time period was the introduction of "5", along with his sisters "3" and "4". 5 may not be well remembered, but he is still a pretty interesting character. These are classic comic strips from one of the masters of the medium. Great stuff, highly recommended.

Peanuts 2000: The 50th Year Of The World's Favorite Comic Strip16 reviews
Charles M. Schulz

Ballantine Books, 2000

Still love Peanuts
I find that after all this time I still love the Peanuts gang. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy and others still bring a smile to my face as the wonderful insight of the creator comes through. I wish that I was young again and still had the old paperbacks that I once read so I could go back to some and re-read them. I wish that Shultz could still create those drawings and tears just swelled ...

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (Peanuts)6 reviews
Charles M. Schulz

Running Press Kids, 2008

Graphic SF Reader
Charlie Brown has a bit of a problem with the old holiday days off thing, it seems. This team, he has an additional burden, that of being the food provider. Not sure I would want to be going to dinner if Charlie Brown was cooking, but I might take a chance on the Snoopster, though. More of the usual Peanuts sort of thing here with the rest of the gang.

Snoopy's in the House... Dog House that is!
Nice reproductions of the books. If you loved these gift books in the late 60's or early 70's, it's a treat to see them back in their original form and not colourised or with different artwork as some of the other books that are being sold abroad with the same titles as the books in this set. If you loved Happiness Is a Warm Puppy, you will love the rest of the books in this set. These books, ...

Happiness is a Warm Puppy (Peanuts)7 reviews

Cider Mill Press, 2006

Wonderful Piece of Childhood
It's great to have this book again. I had the first editions of all the small "square hardbacks" in the 60's, but lost them somewhere along the line. They reflect the simplicity and warmth of PEANUTS in their very format. Happiness Is a Book By Charles Schulz!
