Could they possibly go wrong?
It's hard to imagine the dynamic duo of Amber Benson and Christopher Golden could go wrong. I have yet to see it. The Seven Whistlers is a gripping tale but simplistic in its resolution. While it's shorter and not as elaborate as The Ghosts of Albion series penned by these same authors, it is still an entertaining suspenseful read.

A Story Poignantly Told In The Voice of A Loving Mother
Mother Mamie Till-Mobley will forever be remembered as a paragon of love, forgiveness, and indomitable strength. This moving memoir was told as only a mother could tell it with both tenderness and the maternal fervor that is so distinctly and universally "Mother." She paints for the reader a portrait of who Emmett was from the time of his birth up to his brutal death, and beyond. For the manner ...

Wonderful collection
This collection contains three stories , "WannaBlessedBe", "Wilderness" and "Demonology Menagerie". The first one, "WannaBlessedBe" is five by five! This story is written by two of my favorite people, Chris Golden & Amber Benson. I loved the way they handled Willow & Tara's relationship, very subtle, very BtVS 4th/ fifth season.(This story takes place in the fifth season.) What I also loved about ...

Selected and Introduced by David Stuart Davies The great oaken gate heaved and splintered, and a monstrous beast as huge as a horse appeared at the mouth of the den; his small head was laid back on his hairy shoulders, his little eyes gleamed wickedly, and his red mouth opened snarling fiercely. Undeservedly, the weird and chilling ghost stories of Arthur Christopher Benson and Robert Hugh Benson have been neglected for far too long. ...

A decent book
I think this is an okay book, it combines the text of the original BBC animated serials. One minor notice - the text is the script. It is not transferred to a "book-form" so to speak.

A must read!
Move over Buffy. Step aside Charmed. There are some new demon fighters on the block. Brother and sister team, Tamara and William Swift, are kicking some major demon butt in the new series of books by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden. And unlike their 2lst century counterparts, they're doing it with style in 19th century England. The Swifts have inherited a powerful legacy from their ...

Yale University Press
, 2004
The tradition of portraiture in Latin America is astonishingly long and rich. For over 2,000 years, portraits have been used to preserve the memory of the deceased, bolster the social standing of the aristocracy, mark the deeds of the mighty, advance the careers of politicians, record rites of passage, and mock symbols of the status quo. This beautiful and wide-ranging book—the first to explore the tradition of portraiture in Latin America ...

A Good Collection of Ghost Stories by Great Authors
Dover's collections of ghost, horror, and mystery stories are among the best deals in the paperback book world. I read this volume around Halloween, and it made what little hair I have left curl and vanish. The quality of the individual stories varies greatly, with the best being "Wandering Willie's Tale" by Sir Walter Scott, "Doctor Heidegger's Experiment" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and the ...

Is there anything this girl can't do?
Amber Benson acts. She directs. She sings. She dances. And she writes, and everything she does is beautiful! I bought this because I was interested finding out how other Buffy vets occupy their free time. At first I thought the price of this volume was a little pricey, but when I got it, I was pleasantly surprised. My edition came autographed by Amber and Christopher Golden, so that alone was ...

The Silent Isle

I have been spending some days in town, on business; I have been sitting on two committees, I have given a lecture, I have attended a public dinner; and now I have come back gratefully to my hermitage. I got home in the evening; it is winter, but unusually warm; and the birds were fluting in the bushes, as I walked round the garden in the twilight, as though they had an inkling of the Spring; to hear them gave me a sort of delicious pain, I ...
