Duty, Honor, Country
The mark of a successful coming of age story is that you, the reader, can see yourself reflected in the protagonist. For me, this book worked very well. Will McLean, the main character and first-person narrator, a second generation Irish boy, son of a Marine, a mongrel outsider in the pedigreed Carolina Military Institute searches for himself, the man within the boy who is being molded by a ...

Every "American" must read this!!!!!!
After trying to understand for years even a small fraction of what is actually going on in Iraq and what happened in Fallujah, this book is a blessing. Not only is a it a great account to the things we all must know before we turn on CNN for the guide to our lives, it's also a great story in general.. It will steal you heart, if you have one. It's very easy to read and holds your attention ...

Just buy it. You'll finish your marathon.
Prior to training, I had run ONE 5k race (mostly walked), and never actually ran for excercise for more than 3 miles. I began this training wanting to see how far I'd get and the next thing I know I was 15-20 pounds lighter and crossing the tape at that Dallas WhiteRock marathon in 2003 at 4:18:13. Don't get me wrong, I was in pain. It wasn't easy. But as they say, the pain is ...

Curious about the narrator
This is a compelling story about Greg Mortensen's mission to promote peace. What is most interesting is that his gifts of time, energy, and devotion did not start out with the intention to promote peace but evolved as he came to know and understand the people of Pakistan and witness his own country's overt error resulting from lack of understanding. I was intrigued by the writing of the book, ...

Long, but well worth the length
I was given this book as a Christmas present. I had read McCullough's 1776 and John Adams and had enjoyed them both (although I was disappointed in the brevity of 1776). Still this book (Truman) stayed on my shelf gathering dust for over six months. I was initially overwhelmed with its length and afraid to tackle it (I had failed with Vidal's Lincoln and didn't want to repeat that result). I ...

This is a great follow up!
I also enjoyed this book as much as A Child Called "IT". This also made me cry as much as as the first one. I could not put it down as well.

Great copy of unabridged Count of Monte Cristo
We only recently found out that all our copies of The Count of Monte Cristo were abridged. We checked this out of our local library and liked it so much we bought a copy for our home library. The type setting is very readable and best of all, it's not abridged. The story is a classic and a great read. I recommend it for everyone.

Miracle on Paper !!!!
For those of you like me, doctor after doctor, with no results this is the book for you. This is the first time I have written a review for anything I have purchased. His 1-2-3 step book is working for me. I was suffering from a continuous migraine for almost 4 months and was ready to commit my self. No doctors in my area were able to help, medicines, CT scans, MRI scans I went through a lot ...

Myst: The Book of Atrus
It really seems only fitting that a video game about books would have a series of books published in its name. For some reason when such books were first coming out I was sort of skeptical about their quality. I truly am glad I overcame this and decided to pick up the Myst books. I was an early enough adopter to be able to get all the hardcover texts and they are all beautifully designed. ...

I bought 5 more copies
Upon completing this little book (that I couldn't put down) I immediately ordered 5 more copies. I knew that I had to share this message with family and friends. I continue to recommend The Go-Giver to family, friends, associates and and new acquaintances, many of which have already heard of it or even own a copy. It's a powerful message wrapped in a very human story. I truly enjoyed this book.

Awesome!
I just got my copy of this CD and I listened to it immediatly. David Hooper, gives lots of great ideas for being successful in music and any business, or life. Some of the things he talked about re-affirmed what I had been doing, but he gave enough 'new' ideas to really kick my music career to the next level!

His Grandmother Taught Him Well!
Smart Women Finish Rich is a bit different from other financial books I've read. I have to admit I was surprised with how well David Bach addressed both the emotional and intellectual relationship women have with money. His grandmother taught him well. I am going to say that Smart Women Finish Rich is more for a financial beginner than a woman with financial savvy. It's a well thought out ...

I really enjoyed reading about his experience as a driver. It is well written and not boring. Which it could have been since it is always hard to write about work. I loved watching his father race and now I get to watch him.

Simply Brilliant Book - A Must Read
John Dies at the End is by far the best book I've ever purchased on a whim from Amazon. I absolutely loved it, was shocked by how much I enjoyed it, and just reveled in that special shopping glow when you are rewarded far more for a purchase than what you shelled out for it. That being said, if anyone wants to buy my copy for the price reflected on Amazon now just send me a comment because the ...

I Love Energy Medicine!
I originally read this book when it came out about 10 years ago. I found it interesting, but didn't do the exercises. However, it stayed in the back of my mind, and I knew that someday I wanted to take a class from Donna. I recently had the opportunity to do so, and now I'm hooked on energy medicine. When you see Donna in person, you realize that she is her own best advertisement for what ...

Complete and fun reference book
This is such a fun book! Lots of rare photos of all cast members. I really enjoyed the stories and anecdotes from all the personal interviews with the different cast members. This book obviously took lots of time and effort to compile. I was won over in the first few pages where proper hommage is paid to the Angels' predecessors in female crime-fighting : Anne Francis as Honey West and Diana Rigg ...

Another phenomenal background story for Myst
Needless to say after finishing "The Book of Atrus" I had fairly high expectations for this series going forward. At the end of "The Book of Atrus" we think the story is going to continue forward from that point, but there is a major story that has not been told yet. The fall of D'ni. This tale is frequently alluded to in the game and the prior book. In fact most of the prior book is trying ...

Simply Outstanding
Beautiful writing. Simply one of the best books by a living author that I've read. If you have interest in great writing, baseball, or Christianity, you'll enjoy the book. If you're a fan of all three, it'll be one of your favorites.
