The reference in evolutionary multi-objective optimization
Evolutionary multi-objective optimization is becoming more and more used these days, and most breakthroughs in this subject can be found in these proceedings (proceedings of EMO'03 are even better than EMO'01, the program committee did a wonderful job). These are not the standard technical proceedings whose intended audience are specialists in the field, anyone with a basic knowledge of ...

Significant Addition to Biocomputing
I like this book. Bioinformatics is a ripe area for applying evolutionary algorithms and the book provides a good overview of many different applications. Some chapters are more polished than others, but that's to be expected. The editors do an excellent job of introducing both bioinformatics and evolutionary computation to their respective audiences. I can't think of another book that makes such ...

Very good step-by-step progression for learning C#
Great learning material. Following the examples and the natural progression of the book is a great method for learning C# with practical examples. Very straight forward approach without being too verbose.

Great book for first year P.A. students studying radiology.
This book teaches the basics such as pneumonia, pneumothorax, and other abnormal thoracic conditions through the use of x-rays. It explains the abnormal findings of each x-ray in a clear and easily understandable manner. Best book I've seen so far on chest x-rays.

Best Beginner's Book
Not having written code in 6 years, this book was the perfect coding refresher and ASP.NET primer. After sifted through a dozen titles, I finally settled down and worked through this ASP.NET text cover to cover. It was the only book that didn't have gaps in explaning fundamental concepts and C# syntax. As someone who programmed in java a lifetime ago and who has not had much web development ...
Multiobjective Problem Solving from Nature: From Concepts to Applications (Natural Computing Series)
Springer
, 2008
Multiobjective problems involve several competing measures of solution quality, and multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) and multiobjective problem solving have become important topics of research in the evolutionary computation community over the past 10 years. This is an advanced text aimed at researchers and practitioners in the area of search and optimization. The book focuses on how MOEAs and related techniques can be used to ...
Creative Evolutionary Systems (With CD-ROM)
Morgan Kaufmann, 2001
The use of evolution for creative problem solving is one of the most exciting and potentially significant areas in computer science today. Evolutionary computation is a way of solving problems, or generating designs, using mechanisms derived from natural evolution. This book concentrates on applying important ideas in evolutionary computation to creative areas, such as art, music, architecture, and design. It shows how human interaction, new ...
