AutoCAD2008 and AutoCAD LT 2008: No Experience Required4 reviews
David Frey, Jon McFarland

Sybex, 2007

Thourough coverage for a beginner
I found the book very complete, covering all the common commands and tools necessary for drawing complex diagrams. Also included are explanations on drawing set-up, drawing blocks, text, title blocks, tables, printing layouts, viewports, etc. Pretty much every facet of the program is at least introduced (except LISP), including 3-D. While I will be using the program primarily in drawing ...

AutoCAD 2002: No Experience Required11 reviews
David Frey

Sybex, 2001

Very Satisfied
This book is great for beginners ! I have bought other books such as the Mastering Autocad from George Omura ,but the thing I really enjoyed about this book was that it was explained in very simple terms , as not to intimidate a beginner !The only reason I got this one was to catch up on this version of Autocad 2002, previously coming from Autocad 14 . It's excellent for novices !

AutoCAD 2007 and AutoCAD LT 2007: No Experience Required14 reviews
David Frey

Sybex, 2006

Definitely a better value than the class!
This book takes somebody with zero CAD experience and walks you through the software at your own pace. If you want to master the content, then you can always repeat a chapter, and all of the chapters have an "if you want more practice" section that gives you exercises with very little guidance to test yours skills. Also, you can always cruise through the stuff you want to get past, knowing that ...

AutoCAD 2000: No Experience Required18 reviews
David Frey

Sybex, 1999

First time AutoCad users need this
Although this book is based on architectural drawing, Frey walks you through this with the intention of showing you all (most?) of the possibilities with AutoCad, so you can pick up and go where he lets you off. I started with no knowledge of this program and before I have finished the book, I can already see how I can do my electrical drawings quite easily. This is a 'must have' book ...

AutoCAD 2004 and AutoCAD LT 2004: No Experience Required9 reviews
David Frey

Sybex, 2003

THE Book For Beginners
As the title says, No Experience Required. I tried several AutoCAD books including the"Dummies" series and it seems they all assume that the reader has some basic knowledge of AutoCAD. Frey assumes nothing and teaches by example, which to me is the best way to learn. Start with this book, learn a chapter a day, and in a couple of weeks you'll have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD. Then you ...

AutoCAD 2005 and AutoCAD LT 2005: No Experience Required2 reviews
David Frey

Sybex, 2004

Great Book For Learning Autocad
I moved to Autocad from another drafting program. I never really took the time to properly learn Autocad. This book has been very enlightening. I now finally understand how Autocad works and how to use it efficiently. The book has an excellent tutorial in which you construct a small cabin. As you draw the cabin you work with the basics of setting up drawings and drawing lines. As you work ...

AutoCAD 2006 and AutoCAD LT 2006: No Experience Required13 reviews
David Frey

Sybex, 2005

AutoCAD's powerful tools and drawing features are all detailed in depth.
AUTOCAD 2006 AND AUTOCAD LT 2006: NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED is a fine, basic introduction to a powerful program which once commanded the attention only of professionals. Any seeking to utilize the CAD software should have this manual in hand: it provides a set of tutorials which are sequentially arranged for step-by-step study - but it also can be used as an at-a-glance reference sourcebook for ...

The Ultimate Plectrum Banjo Player's Guide, Compact Disc Companion to Vol.1 & Vol.2 (Set of 2)3 reviews
David Frey, Susanne Sangiacomo

SLS & Co., 2000

A necessary companion to the greatest plectrum book.
If you are like me, living in the middle of plectrum nowhere, you only have a vague idea of how a plectrum banjo should sound. We've heard a lot of Bluegrass, as well tenor banjos tucked away in the background of a Dixieland band, and maybe some Harry Reser or Eddie Peabody virtuoso recordings. Just enough to whet our appetite for the greater range and melody breaks possible on a plectrum ...

AutoCAD 14: No Experience Required13 reviews
David Frey

Sybex, 1998

Architectural CAD from 0 to WOW in four weeks...
For many years I have wanted to learn AutoCAD, but the complexity of earlier programs, and the instructional materials available made the task far too time consuming and difficult. In this book, David Frey presents a simple project which by continuing development of it cover to cover, takes an individual from the basic functions of AutoCAD R14 through 3 dimensional modeling. Starting with a ...
