1st Edition on General Shinseki's Desk So He had no Excuse
This book was placed on General Shinseki's desk long BEFORE he announced his ill-fated decision to waste $BILLIONS on "LAV-III" Canadian-made peackekeeper trucks and the tragic loss of Soldier lives and limbs in the post-nation-state war occupation of Iraq. The sugar-coating of "Stryker" had not even been concocted to fool the lower ranks yet into victim-hood and you will see its called an "IAV" ...

Air Mech Strike - More Capable Alternative to IBCT
Yes. I am currently one of them. I understand your criticisms and your accolades. Therefore, not being one of the original authors, I can play "Devil's Acvocate" with both the reviews and the book. For the Reviewers: Air Mech Strike is a book by individual authors that bring their long years of experience and study into the mix. There is some duplication and the layout does "hurt the eyes" ...

Study Guide by Lehninger
It made a signficant difference in my grade. It went from a C- to an A. The instructor writes his own test questions, but it challenged, reinforced, and explained some of the concept missed before.

Excellent! Can't wait for the Next Edition!
If you are a undergraduate or a graduate student who needs to learn some biochemistry from the ground up (without an instructor), this is the text for you. Lehninger really outdoes himself by creating a Biochemistry textbook that's not only colorful and pretty to look at but also wonderfully written. Of all of the science textbooks I've had to read to date, this was the best! Lehninger really ...

This book is good for class and future reference
I was surprised when I got this book. It's a big book. Don't fool yourself if you think this book is only 100 pages the description is wrong. It has 851 pages and it is actually bigger than the textbook. Besides the size and weight it's the perfect book for the classroom. I only take this book to class rather than the textbook.I use the textbook only for test-review and reference.

More Power, Tim!
This book review is different, because Power Tools: Top Executive Coaches Put You on the Fast Track to Success is different. The brainchild of Ann Mah, a Legislator in State of Kansas, in her spare time brought nineteen of the best Business & Personal Coaches to share their insights, in one chapter. "Success is what you do in your spare time." The result is a three-part focus with six ...

a book to use, and a book to keep
Lehninger's book remains the best single text in biochemistry, at least in English. A fine book for undergraduates, it is also the one volume that you may keep on your shelf for years to come, and the best biochem text for those whose primary specialty is not biochemistry (e.g. medicine, p-chem, microbio). No text is ever a substitute for the journals if you work in the field, but this book ...

Disappointed in what is missing.
I was looking for a book that would explain linear programming (optimization modeling) and pivot tables - the book did an excellent job for those two tasks, so I bought it. My mistake was in assuming that the MBA moniker meant that it would cover most of the features for which MBA's use Excel. I was first disappointed when VLOOKUP (vertical lookup) and HLOOKUP (horizontal lookup) were not ...

A pretty good book
I want to respond to the three critics who curiously all at the exact same time pan this book. I smell a rat, guys. Ask the Expert Guide to Money is really a pretty good book. Would I have liked more info? You bet. But I still got more help fromthis 300page book that I got in the 40page user guide or I got from the online help.

Excellent Wall Art
When I first opened this cell map, I became quickly overwhelmed. But with time, you will learn to love it as I have. The glossy finish and the sharp contrasting cell membranes are some of the greatest features. The top right corner of this map has beautiful intricate detail in the spanning membrane proteins (type I-VI). Not only is the cell map for a animal cell, but it diversely embraces ...

Be careful which edition you're ordering!
This is a terrific, mid-level biochemistry text. It lacks the detail necessary for a year-long course for biochem majors, but is excellent for a solid one-semester survey class. The figures are outstanding in their explanatory power, though the third edition has lost two of the best figures from the second (!). I note that this ... entry confounds two editions: This $85 offering, by ...

Gives a well-written and complete introduction
This book provides a very good introduction to discrete-event simulation. The authors start out by providing several simple examples in areas such as queueing and inventory systems, as well as reliability. After the first few chapters the reader gets a sense of what simulation represents and why it is done. In later chapters they score high marks in introducing more advanced issues, such as ...
Occupational Therapy Activities from Clay to Computers: Theory and Practice

a good book for learning therapuetic activities
This book is a good activity reference for students who are learning how to complete therapeutic activities. It explains what you will need to complete the activity, how to complete the activity, and what precautions (if any) that you must follow. I used the blank and very detailed activity analysis form that was included in this book many times in my therapeutic media classes. I was glad that ...
