A heartwrenching story of forgiveness
Deb Raney has a way of gripping you by the throat with emotions and literally transporting you into the lives of her characters. After the Rains is her best yet and showed the way it's so hard to forgive ourselves for our sins. I lived every page with the characters. You've got to read this one!

Page-turning, thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying story!
As with any reader, I have my favorite authors, those whose books I anticipate, who get pushed to the top of my to-be-read pile. Award-winning author Deborah Raney is one of those authors. I met Deb several years ago through American Christian Fiction Writers, and we have been friends ever since. But that's not why I love her writing. She just happens to know how to capture my imagination and ...

A great resource book for children's sermons
There are several things I like about this book. The every-day, easy to find objects used in the sermons are items that children in my church quickly identify. The stories are interesting to adults and children and I don't have to add much to them. There are also special occasion lessons, such as Father's Day and Super Bowl Sunday. The book includes both a scripture index and a topical ...

I was her Neighbor
I lived next door to Sophie and I was excited to hear about the book. I couldn't wait to read it. I found it very interesting and couldn't put it down. Even though I knew most of the story about the divorce the times during the war captivated me. Sophie is a true hero.

Missouri Memories
The plots in the stories in this book are very predictable and are slightly saccarine. But, all in all, it's easy reading and pleasant compared to some other books that require complete concentration! I'd say, go for it if you want happy endings!

A well written book that is enjoyable all the way through
The only thing I didn't like about it is that it ended. I didn't want to let these characters go. It was a wonderful read full of depth and struggles but with hope that inspires me to do more with my life. I hope there will be more books with these characters because I LOVED this book!

A great book with no easy answers
Deborah Raney's Beneath a Southern Sky is a great book with a plot that will keep you trying to guess what Daria will do. You'll never be able to guess because there is no way that you or she could make the right decision. There are no correct answers. Daria thought her husband Nate was dead. A few years later she remarried a man named Cole. She then finds out Nate is alive. She loves them ...
