Html for Dummies Quick Reference11 reviews
Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray

Hungry Minds, 1997

Great book! Very helpful and easy to look things up!
This book is not only helpful with tags and the like, it's also a great learning tool. Look things up by their names or their tags. It's a must have for anybody working with HTML!

Unix, Second Edition20 reviews
Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray

Peachpit Press, 2003

Very practical, reference-like
The book is easy to use and understand, good choice for beginners, but might be a bit wordy for advanced users. Its structure is very similar to a reference book, runs along the UNIX commands in 17 chapters, and provides enough information and examples to their usage. It contains three appendices summarizing the UNIX files and directories, the UNIX commands and their flags. It contains no ...

Definitive Guide to HTML with Tools Samples
This is the most comprehensive HTML code book I've read. It not only does a bang-up job of HTML, but it provides references for CSS, Java, Javascript, and Netscape & Microsoft proprietary code as well! I highly recommend this book to advanced HTML coders and Web Authors. It addresses many complex topics that will benefit the seasoned coders. I don't recommend it to first time HTML authors ...

Approach 97 for Windows 95 for Dummies1 review
Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray

John Wiley & Sons Inc (Computers), 1997

Not enought information to create much of an application
some of the information is useful, but the real "How do you do this" was left out. The book was written in a easy to read style, but left me with more questions than answers. I am a Borland Visual Database programmer, that was looking for a second language to learn and i feel that i still have not taken my first step in this direction after reading the book.

UNIX, Third Edition7 reviews
Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray

Peachpit Press, 2006

What are you waiting for
I was wondering through the Unix maze, untill this small title cleared everything up. A little delight to have. If only I had known it existed, I would not have had my butt kicked from title to title, on craps, who called themselves Unix learning guides.

Creating Web Pages All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies3 reviews
Emily A. Vander Veer, Doug Lowe, ...

For Dummies, 2004

Above and Beyond
Get this book, read it, and Boom! You're up to speed on website design and implementation. Unlike many "For Dummies" books, Creating Web Pages is an in-depth look at the entire process, which begins at the entry level and quickly advances. The book claims to be 9 books in 1, and although 8 of these so-called books are not complete books in themselves, the information provided is detailed enough ...

Access 2000 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide)3 reviews
Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray

Peachpit Press, 1999

A great reference
I'm surprised at the feedback I've seen on this book because I truly enjoy the Quickstart series of computer books. They're informative, detailed and the content is easy to find. In fact, their books were used as my textbooks in college and I liked them so much I continue to use them. But I won't say that these books aren't for a specific type of person. I will explain. If you've ever picked up a ...

HTML 4 for Dummies Quick Reference25 reviews
Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray

For Dummies, 2000

Great for beginners!
I love this book! 7 years ago, when I was in high school, I knew nothing about HTML, so I picked up this book. And it really helped me learn fast! Each of the book's lessons is hands-on, which makes it so much easier to pick up. It teaches you HTML by having you type the codes into the Notepad program, and saving the file as an .html instead of a .txt file. Then, when you open it up, it ...

Mastering HTML 4 is great for the Beginner
This book has provided great help getting me started toward understanding HTML. The detailed information and step by step instruction that the Rays placed in the book increased my confidence and interest in Web design. The book is easy to use and great as a reference. The Internet GigaBook For Dummies1 review
Peter Weverka, Tony Bove, ...

For Dummies, 2004

Whoa!
I've first checked this book out from the Chicago Public Library three times and once kept it two months after the book check out expired. The I purchased the book myself. I can not offer enough praise for this well researched and written book on the Internet. This is definitely the "Book" for pros and "dummies" alike. I have been working in technology for eighteen years with the U.S. Navy and ...

Mastering HTML 43 reviews
Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray

Sybex, 1999

Well-Used Book For This Professional Web Designer
This book is fiercely awesome. While the first half of the book teaches you all about proper HTML authoring, the back half of the book is a giant, yet easy to read reference of nearly all HTML tags, most of CSS2 style elements, and the most commonly used Javascript. As a professional webmaster, most HTML books I've read have no re-readability value; you read them once and then they collect ...

I taught myself HTML with this book in my spare time.
What an awesome book...a MUST for anyone trying to understandand learn HTML! I'm a mother of 3 with no prior knowledge of HTMLcoding before this book. Very simple instructions, easy to use and easy to understand. I have recommended this book to a number of my friends just starting out with HTML and they think it's an awesome find too. Osborne Publishing, 1998

Search Engines: EXPLAINED!
Recently a friend at work told me about these so-called "search engines" on "The Internet." At first I scoffed: "What do I need a search engine for? I never had to search for an engine and I'm most certainly not an engineer." But I decided to have a look-see anyway because, well, I've always been the adventurous type. Incredibly, there were several hundred copies of The Altavista Search ...
