BEST INSTRUCTIONAL BOOK I'VE EVER READ!!!
This book makes learning Final Cut Express extremely easy and fun. It takes you step by step and shows you just how cool and intuitive the program is. The author explains things so clearly, it seems like she is sitting beside you, walking through every move. I have read 3 books on Final Cut Express and this book is by far the easiest way to learn it. You MUST get this book! It comes with a DVD ...

Great book about Video
This book really helped me understand all the parameters of video and audio and all the different formats, particularly the new stuff like hi-definition. it made something that seemed complicated easy. A great read for anyone who is interested in learning more about the technical side of video

Michael Verdi, Ryanne Hodson, ...

Peachpit Press, 2006

Comprehensive, clear, and fun to read---If you want one book on vlogging this is it
Full disclosure----I know the authors and am mentioned in the book. OK, now onto the book itself. I'm going to buy 4 copies of Secrets of Videoblogging for the technology education afterschool program I help run in NYC. The book is a great reference, with clear step by step instructions for how to produce the videoblog that meets your needs. Ryanne and Michael have been educating people ...

Final Cut Pro 5
I am a beginner to editing video. This text is easy for me to understand and gives great detail on how to do all the procedures needed to create great videos. I highly recommend Final Cut Pro 5 by Diana Weynand, whether you are a begninner or if you are well versed in the program. After the initial tutorial material is covered, it will make a great reference manual.

Stumbling to shortcuts in 3 days
Until I purchased this book, I had owned FCP4 for six months. I had learned my way around the software well enough. I felt comfortable, but not necessarily proficient. In order to improve my editing time, I went ahead and ordered this book, also with the intent of getting my Apple certification, as this is the same text used in their classes. Normally, I am the type that I will skip sections ...

Great Book
I liked this manual. Easy to read and good information. It took about a week of relaxed study and working through the examples, and now I know Final Cut Express. Easy as that.

This is it!
After several attempts at learning FCP, it was this book that did the trick. Each lesson is clear and concise. Not to mention, the book follows a logical progression in what it teaches you. In the end, I recommend this book without any reservation.

Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro for Avid Editors (3rd Edition) (Apple Pro Training)4 reviews
Diana Weynand

Peachpit Press, 2007

Moving from Avid to FCP? This book is great!
We have been an Avid only edit house for years, but reciently purchased two Final Cut systems. Most of the transition was pretty easy, but trying to figure out how to do some of the things in FCP that we did in our sleep on the Avid slowed us down a bit. This book draws great parallels between the two systems.

You Can't Beat The Self Paced Apple Pro Series
This is by far the best self paced overview series I have found for various applications. I wish there were classes near me (but they are hours away) but these are fantastic substitutes!

A thorough grounding that will need supplementation
Let's start with the basic, should-be-obvious premiss: the Final Cut video editing platform is NOT "iMovie Complete"...except in the sense that it is completely different. The differences between Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro are in certain capabilities -- Express is not a "dumbed-down" version of Pro, it just lacks certain capabilities. The interface is a professional non-linear editing ...
