See the World from the Feelings of your Child
Dr. Leman helped me see the possible feelings and thoughts that my children may be having in certain situations. He not only writes from the perspective of the parents, but also from the children. He provides examples of how parents typically respond and then provides alternatives that are more healthy and relationship-building. No matter what your situation, children need love, an ...

Sex Begins in the Ktchen
As a husband and pastor who works with many marriages, healthy and otherwise, I am most impressed with this book. The title doesn't really do it justice as it addresses a diverse range of subjects related to intimacy in marriage. The book is refreshingly honest and practical - addressing the issue of sex and intimacy with forthrightness, maturity and humor. Though, I know from experience that ...

Discovering the Habits that I needed to break...
Dr. Leman, in his typical witty way, gets right to the heart of the problem- and talks right to me! I was confronted in my patterns of being a Pleaser, which only allowed me to feel comfortable with controllers. I am at a point in my life where I want to get off the merry-go-round of bad relationships. Dr. Leman discusses very practical ways to change my habits, which will in turn help me ...

Very Strong Offering beneficial to Many
Dr Leman is best known for his book regarding birth order and its effect upon personality and characteristics and so I expected this book to be good and I was not disappointed. It is ironic, but the fact is that many underachievers are in fact not lazy, but people capable of excellence who have determined on some level that it is safer to gaurd against being judged by others by engineering ...

What A Difference
I recently saw Dr. Kevin Leman on Fox and Friends and I immediately went out and bought Have A New Kid By Friday. After reading this book, the whole atmosphere in my house has changed. I used to have kids who were disrespectful, and mouthy, but now I have kids who listen to me-- I almost fell over the other day when my son asked me what he could do to help. I liked the book so much that I am ...

Great Book!
This book has been a TREMENDOUS help for me!! I have really been able to recognize myself over and over again throughout the pages. Although some examples are to do with dating I still was able to recognize the main problem/idea and use it for myself. It was really important to me to be able to understand why I was reacting in certain ways and Mr. Lemon helped me to see this. Also, when ...

An outstanding, illuminating and accessible book.
I don't usually read self-knowledge/self-help books, and even more rarely finish them. The genre tends to suffer from poor writing, overuse of jargon, academic axe-grinding, and the smug tendency of the authors to try and jam you into their pet, pigeon-holed theories. (I wonder how many of those authors are first-borns, and if that's part of the problem for this last-born son?) I found "The Real ...

Excellent Book!
I love this book! I think every married couple or couple thinking of getting married, should read this book. It really helps you to have realistic expectations. This book is wonderfully informative but also very entertaining and fun to read. Having seen Kevin Leman deliver this message in person, the book is a wonderful reference to go back and read from time to time. BUY IT!

Cute and unique book for only children and parents
There are so few books that focus on only children FOR only children. This is a keeper. It's a very thoughtful story about an only bear cub and his parents and how it's okay to be an only child and that doesn't make the child weird. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the author, while a guru on birth order, may have put too much emphasis on NOT having a sibling, versus the situation ...

Be your own Shrink
I would sugguest you save your money and buy the Birth Order book. This book is a rehash of that work plus an amalgamation of Gary Chapman's book The Five Languages of Love. I wonder if this book isn't a reponse to Leman's publisher to "give us one more book". I am disappointed when books are restatements from previous works and this is that kind of book. Save your money.
Say Good-bye to Stress

A boring read
This book is tedious to read. The help it gives is mediocure and common sense. It basically is that inorder to combat stress you have to priotize, and choose what is important to you. You dont need to read 12 chapters to learn this from this book. I feel it could of been said in two chapters. The author's other books are better, especially "Sheet Music".

A must have
All parents of first borns should own this book. It is laugh out loud funny and brings tears of joy to your eyes. This book rang so true to our first born, even though he's of a different gender than the character in the book. I buy this for all my friends!

Not all theories have graphs
This book is life-changing. Maybe Dr. Leman's theories aren't backed by numerical data, but let's not forget--not all data can be gauged in graphs or contained in charts. In fact, Leman's opinions are backed by something more solid than statistics: his wealth of experience with the human condition. He has counseled virtually thousands of couples and thus lays claim to a vast understanding of ...

Middle child LOVES
I bought this book and the other two for the youngest and oldest children. The other two like it well enough, but for the middle child...so special! She loves reading it night after night and even sleeps with it. I would highly recommend this for the middle child.
