Great book!
My husband has thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. He has recommended it to his friends that have daughters. We have 5 year old and 5 month old girls and I appreciate his effort in becoming a better daddy to them. This would make a great "New daddy" gift or Fathers day gift.

Not all theories have graphs
This book is life-changing. Maybe Dr. Leman's theories aren't backed by numerical data, but let's not forget--not all data can be gauged in graphs or contained in charts. In fact, Leman's opinions are backed by something more solid than statistics: his wealth of experience with the human condition. He has counseled virtually thousands of couples and thus lays claim to a vast understanding of ...

Discovering the Habits that I needed to break...
Dr. Leman, in his typical witty way, gets right to the heart of the problem- and talks right to me! I was confronted in my patterns of being a Pleaser, which only allowed me to feel comfortable with controllers. I am at a point in my life where I want to get off the merry-go-round of bad relationships. Dr. Leman discusses very practical ways to change my habits, which will in turn help me ...

See the World from the Feelings of your Child
Dr. Leman helped me see the possible feelings and thoughts that my children may be having in certain situations. He not only writes from the perspective of the parents, but also from the children. He provides examples of how parents typically respond and then provides alternatives that are more healthy and relationship-building. No matter what your situation, children need love, an ...

A Very Interesting Book
I found this book in the mark down bin at the local books store and am so glad I brought it home. Dr. Leman touches on how birth order, early childhood memories and even your parents' style of parenting affects the development of your personality. This book provides lots of insight on things I never even thought about before. Also, his writing style is a pleasure to read, as he uses personal ...

Very insightful
Right on about my childhood memories. Very interesting. You should read this and see what you remember first and how that impacts who you are today.

The Way Men Are
As a pastor who counsels many couples, I have found this book useful to help women face the realities about the male of the species. I have seen marriages rejuvinated in certain instances. Although the author could have been more tactful, he brings home the real facts of life about men and particularly the importance of frequent sex for men. True, not all men fit Leman's mold, but most do. ...

Helpful Book for Blending Families
I might not have a Ph.D or specialize in anything other than being the best parent I can possibly be to my two children, as well as to my significant others three children, however I can tell you, this book is an excellent read. Although tailored to the step or blended family, any parent would find much of the information useful. Understanding birth order can seriously change how you ...

Kevin Leman writes well and this little book is easy to read. You'll find wise insight and good help for stepfamilies here. It's a good value. Reality Discipline Works!
I read this for the first time last year, and several of the ideas presented sounded vaguely familiar. When I asked my mom about it, sure enough, it turned out she'd used it on us when we were kids. And boy, did it work! It's one thing to try and fight against "because I said so". It's quite another to fight against the consequences of your own choices, and life usually doesn't let you off the ...

Don't Let the Title Scare You!
This book is excellent! You don't even have to wait until your kids are older to read this book. The practical suggestions they give begin with pre school age children, and continue up until your kids are 16 and 17. I highly recommend this book as a must-read for any parent!!

It really works!
After just two days we saw results with our 4 year old son. After a week, he really was a better behaved kid. The results aren't always perfect, but that is usually because his father and I have not executed the steps properly, AND he is only 4 after all. This book is worth reading and trying! We are a much calmer family now that we are following the suggestions in this book.

Love this book!
I love this book and get a huge laugh from Kevin Leman. I've seen him in person and he is hilarious. Love his no nonsense approach to raising children. The Birth Order is a great read for everyone. Teaches you about yourself and your children . . . and other people and children too. It helps you understand why people act the way they do. People have been shocked when I have been able to tell ...
Say Good-bye to Stress

A boring read
This book is tedious to read. The help it gives is mediocure and common sense. It basically is that inorder to combat stress you have to priotize, and choose what is important to you. You dont need to read 12 chapters to learn this from this book. I feel it could of been said in two chapters. The author's other books are better, especially "Sheet Music".
