Great Introduction on SQL server 7.0
This book is very well organized for a new comers to SQL administration. If you are taken by the title you will be gone for a toss. However, it is a great book to get your feet wet. Specially if you are planning to go for certification.

Looks like all the reviews for this book are for SQL 7.0. I have the SQL 2005 version of this book and I have to say it is VERY complete. I agree with previous reviewer. Starters may find this book little hard to follow. This book is best if used as reference. In other words you must be somewhat familiar with tuning expects of Oracle before nsidering purchasing this book and to benefit / improve or mastering Oracle tuning.

Great Tuning Reference
I have been tuning SQL Server databases for some time, and have not seen such a good reference short of the Inside SQL Server series originated by Ron Soukup. I strongly recomend this book for everyone creating or maintaining an enterprise database.

This book does nothing more than teaches one how to use the Oracle wizards to create tables, users, etc... If your new to Oracle, you should learn the syntax of the command lines even thought your in a NT environmet.
