Her Island
Another great book for Ms. Price. Read the book in two days. Her story telling has a way of pulling the reader into the story. After reading the St. Simon Trilogy my future visits to her island will have a new meaning for me. I have gone to St Simon's for the last five summers and I always felt so at peace once I got there, I feel that is how she must have felt. It is the most calming and restful ...

Dealing with death
Without realizing the focus of the book, I found the beginning a bit depressing. Eugenia Price, though, showed the mercy of God toward those who mourn. Anne Couper Fraser is prepared through the grief of others to face her own personal tragedy. She grows in selflessness as the book progresses, gaining strength from God and learning to comfort others. Excellant read on the whole with ...

Bittersweet
You're probably wondering who the Beloved Invader is, right? The title really is the whole book, in general. Anson Dodge is a Northerner visiting the Civil-War torn South. God sort of leads him to St. Simons Island through different events. There, he falls in love with the people of this island and makes a home for himself. The people think of him as an invader, I suppose. He has to win their ...

Enjoying Miss Eliza, yet again.
I just completed reading Savannah, for the second time. I read it many years ago and loved it then. Recently I was reading Stranger in Savannah and felt I had to go buy Savannah so I could see Mark as a young man again. I find Ms. Price's historical novels educational and entertaining. Savannah, as the Saint Simon's Trilogys, make the reader anxious for the next book about the Mackay and Browning ...

Maria
I couldn't put this book down. After visiting St. Augustine, then reading the book, I was truly walking the streets with Maria. I saw the same building she did and have the same awe for the town as she did. I read this book in two day...I couldn't put it down. Looking for the other two books in the trilogy. Can someone help.

Life saving help for the grieving
Grief can feel like an abyss, and the way out seems impossible. Eugenia Price offers a life line with this little book. She doesn't minimize grief or tell the reader just to "get over it." Rather, she acknowledges the grief, then offers a way to "get through the night" until the day of peace dawns. Price writes from a Christian perspective; it is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ that ...

Attention getting - couldn't put it down.
After having read Savannah, I had to continue the quartet. By the time I finished reading To See Your Face Again I almost felt I knew the characters personally. I had to go to my local library to find Before the Darkness Falls and I am so glad I did. In my opionion, this is the best of the quartet. When I finished it, I had to find out more about the families. I have even gotten ...

a nice change
It was nice to read something that doesn't have me trying to skip over curse words two and three times a page! I consider the entire Georgia Trilogy worth reading. The Christian background is inspiring; plus, the novels were based on the life of a very real woman (supported by indicating places of burial and names of decendants in the Afterword of each book). The Christian theme and ...

Eugenia Price is a very spiritual writer with a lotof love to go around.I've read everything I can get by her and even went to her island about 4 years ago and toured around the island right down to the cemeteries where some of the characters were buried.A very fascinating book, as are all her books.

This was a good book
This book was very fun to read. It kept you interested the whole time. I read this huge book in about two weeks because i couldn't stand not to miss a day reading it. It also made you want to read the next in the series which I am trying to figure out what its called. Eugenia Price did a wonderful job.
DON JUAN MCQUEEN (The Florida Trilogy, Bk. 2)

not my favorite
Here Ms. Price's use of factual characters works against her a little bit. The story of John McQueen is a little too bogged down in the history of Florida during a time not too many people are familiar with. Maybe too much politics and unfamiliar history for a lot of folks to read on the beach.
