Great book, excellent Libertarain sci fi
I picked up a copy of this book at the library. It has an excellent plot. Well written and fast moving. I highly recommend this novel and all of Wilson's Lanague Confederation books.

Not a techno-thriller, but thrilling nevertheless
So many sci-fi novels delve into the tiniest details concerning weapons, transportation, intelligent computers, etc. while ignoring the most fundamental aspects of one of the most powerful forces in society, namely economics. Wilson manages to tell the story of a revolution centered on economics, and he doesn't "dumb down" the theory behind it. He cleverly illustrates the human effects of ...

Wonderful, pure escapism!
I first read this book some 20 years ago, and it has haunted me ever since. I truely wonderful bit of sci-fi spanning time, space and mortality. Whilst it was in my possession I read it many many times, but made the unfortunate mistake of lending it to someone, never to see it again. Some time later I discovered the LaNague chronicles (encapsulating "Healer") and got the book. Whilst Healer ...

Repairman Jack's Beginnings...
I found this book to be kind of sweet. Repairman Jack was a nice kid who always tried to do the right thing because it was the right thing to do. I could relate to pedaling bikes with friends, even pretty young girls with a lot of smarts. But what was best of all, it helps us to understand what made Repairman Jack the standup guy that he is. Kudos to F. Paul Wilson for giving us this insight ...

Still Repairman Jack
Okay, I'm going to go against the grain here and give it 5 stars. Yeah, things have kind of drifted from the original novels, but to me, this was still a cool story and I had no problem reading it. The difference between this one and the others is, to the best of my memory, the inclusion of three different factions (POV wise) besides Jack. That makes for three sets of bad guys which I'll ...

Can Even Surpass The King
This book is one of the greats in thrilling and horrifying its reading...This book, in many ways, came out even better than some of the horrifying Stephen King novels, which we all know are first-rate thrillers. You'll have to read it yourself to find out why!

One of the best in the series...
Wilson is still going strong in his latest Repairman Jack book. If you like supernatural thrillers, like the X-files, you will love Repairman Jack. Not quite as much action as some of Wilsons other books, but the story more than makes up for this. It is a very hard book to put down.

Great read!
Someone recommended this series to me and I'm so very glad they did! Repairman Jack is a wonderful character. It doesn't take long to become sucked into his world. I found myself rooting for this rather unusual hero and was unable to put it down until the last page was devoured! I'm off to get the other books in the series now!

Suspenseful page-turner
Repairman Jack doesn't officially exist. He has no social security number, no tax records, no legal identity of any kind. But his girlfriend Gia is pregnant with their baby and Jack can't be the husband and father he needs to be if he is a legal non-entity. With the help of his friend, Abe, he sets up an opportunity to be "resurrected" under a new identity as a man who recently died. Before he ...

Jack's back
Courtesy of CK2S Kwips and Kritiques This is the third time we encounter Repairman Jack, and the third time is the charm. I fell in love with Repairman Jack from the first moment I met him in THE TOMB, and I fall a little more in love with each installment. Jack can fix just about anything, but don't bother calling him if your dishwasher is leaking all over your kitchen floor or your ...

5 stars because it is a great read, although if you really think about it some logic might be amiss. Fascinating pageturner nonetheless.

Supernatural Thriller
For those new to this series, Repairman Jack is a man who doesn't officially exist. He has gone to great lengths to have no social security number, no tax records, etc. When people have a problem, he's available to fix it. For a price. In this installment, two brothers are new in town and off to a successful start conning rich people with their psychic act. It seems that one of the more ...

A grand work of moral dilehema
Like so many of Wilson's books, the touch deals with not only a supernatural occurrence in a otherwise mundane world but how the characters react to it. The main character of this novel, who makes another appearance in Nightworld, seemed very real to me. Like Steven Gould's spectacular book Jumper, I found myself imagining what I would do at each plot twist only to have the character mirror those ...

Jack Rocks!
I honestly think Repairman Jack is the most clever and unique recurring character I have ever come across. I've only just finished "Legacies" the 2nd in the series and I feel I "know" Jack. The Repairman Jack novels are fast paced, never boring, characters very well developed. I never want to put these books down! This one didn't have a supernatural storyline as did "The Tomb" but it was every ...

LOVE REPAIRMAN JACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a huge fan of Repairman Jack! Jack lives "off the grid" in New York City. He helps people with problems that cannot be solved by the police. He frequently runs across creatures that are evil and bent on destruction and manages to outwit or outfight them. If you are new to Repairman Jack, read them in order starting with The Tomb. There is a good list on his website [...].

Excellent series!
While All the Rage didn't grab me and drag me in the immediately the way The Tomb, the first book in the Repairman Jack series did, I stuck with it and was glad I did. We get to learn more about Repairman Jack and the people in his lives. I would certainly recommend this series to anyone searching for something a little different.

Rich with twists and turns
Gateways is the 7th entry in the "Repairman Jack" series, and in many ways, is the strongest one yet. For those who do not know, Repairman Jack is not a handyman but he is a fixer - of the sorts of problems that people have that for one reason or another preclude involving the authorities. Jack is smart, resourceful, trustworthy and completely moral in his own way. But his fixes frequently ...

Jack and the Body Snatchers
The genres may be different, but lately I have found that a couple of the series I have enjoyed the most in the past few years have both featured a character named Jack: Lee Child's Jack Reacher books and F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack books. Hosts, the fifth in the series, is as much fun to read as the others have been. In this novel, Jack gets a phone call from the sister Kate who he ...
