Great book for feeling good about people
I found this to be a real feel good book. I stumbled on Fannie Flaggs' book 'Welcome to the World Baby Girl' and was so taken by it that I looked for more of her books. I think she has written three books that take place in Elmwood Springs and I've enjoyed them all - just simple stories about people.

The Joys and Trials of Growing Up
This is another of Fannie Flaggs deeply delightful books. The rich characture development is so attention grabbing. What a joy to follow along through the eyes and words of a pre-teen on into adulthood. Another cast of zany oddfellows. I recommend this to young and older readers alike.

As a southerner, I can hear the characters speak as I read their words and felt a deep connection to each of ...

Can't Wait To Get to Heaven by Fannie Flagg
This little book is a wonderfully humorous view into the everyday lives of people living in a close-knit small town. It was uplifting and wise and gave a warm and meaningful perspective of life and death. Not only do I highly recommend it, I have bought several copies so far to give as gifts to friends.
