I can think of no better article or book that makes the case for the importance of psychotherapy and the psychodynamic factors involved with medication management. Excellent of students and beyond
This book is a great model of psychodynamic therapy for depression without "manualizing" treatment. Terms are clearly operationalized. The book has a strong psychoanalytic focus, which I prefer. As a graduate student in psychology, I recommend this text to other students. My placement agreed with me that it is a good text and purchased it for their library as well.
