A must have for anyone interested in Rainbowfish!
This book is, in my opinion, a pillar of the aquarium community. Anyone who has an interest in Rainbowfish, ought to have this book. The information is excellent and I have often used it. It's not a book you will leave sitting on a shelf. The information on each type of Rainbowfish is very in-depth. Specific information for each fish is well ordered, in an intelligent manner. An added ...

Great Help!
PLEASE NOTE THAT MY MENTION OF THE GA AQUARIUM FACILITY DOES NOT TRANSLATE IN THE AQUARIUM ENDORSEMENT OF ANY ITEM I MIGHT REFER TO IN MY REVIEW! I am a volunteer at the GA Aquarium and I found this book while on the look out for something quick and easy to refer to while reviewing my fish identification skills. I use this book all the time when I browse around the aquarium and or I have a quick ...

Excellent residential design process reference. Maybe best.
Ever since its arrival in the mid-1970's as a reference for architecture students and professionals alike, this book has been one of the finest references, also, for budding homeowners as well. It places into beautiful perspective the almost anatomical linkage between large and small scale; neighborhood, house and room. It further discusses, eloquently, the relationship -- the emotional ...

Indo-Pacific Coral Reef Field Guide
For divers, this is the best book I have seen out there. It is loaded with pictures of just about every marine wildlife in the ocean. This is perfect for divers logging fish seen. Great pictures to identify with a small description to go along. Just what every diver needs. I have not found it anywhere in domestic dive shops. I got my first copy while diving in Australia. It is worth the ...

This book is a MUST HAVE for your aquarium library!
If you are at all interested in sea anemones and anemone fishes (clownfishes) then this book is THE definitive book on anemone and clownfish identification. Dr. Fautin and Dr. Allen make a point in saying that this book is NOT primarily about the captive care of anemones or anemone fishes (though there is a small section about their basic care needs; however, they say to look elsewhere for ...

good help with Great Barrier Reef fishes
On a recent trip to the Great Barrier Reef this book was especially useful to us. We were snorkeling in strong currents and could only get a glimpse of the fish but wanted to ID all we saw. This book helped us narrow down our choices. We then used Allen's other book of fish photos to finalize the identification.
A Rapid Marine Biodiversity Assessment of the Coral Reefs of Northwest Madagascar (Conservation International ...
Conservation International
, 2006
This volume, #31 in the series, reports the results of a marine survey in 2002 off the northwestern coast of Madagascar. This marine area is one that many conservationists think has the greatest potential in all of Madagascar for the development of both ecotourism and marine protected areas. The survey documented a rich variety of coral, mollusk, and fish species, and the report makes further recommendations for conservation in the region.

Good overview
Not a detailed field guide, but a comprehensive overview to the marine life of the region. A good buy for an enthusiastic amateur, whether diver, snorkeller or paddling.

Fishes of the Tropical Eastern Pacific
The book is an outstanding work and field guide for unusual species encountered while fishing in Pacific Central America. Text and Photographs are the best I've seen, and the information the most comprehensive to date. The book is a masterpiece for the genre.

Lavish photos of fabulous wildlife with good detail
I wanted a book that would stimulate my children's interest in marine life. They are into elephants and lions in a big way but there's more to life! I think this book will do nicely. Smaller than I was expecting - that just makes it easier to handle for the kids. Each page has a stunning photograph of an even more stunning creature/plant. Below the picture, there is a block of text with just ...

Pop Prints
This cataloge of the recent exhibition "Pop Impressions Europe/USA" at the Museum of Modern Art in NY, added immensely to to my understanding of the pop art movement. it makes it evident that pop was a global movement and not solely American. Also, the organization of the book is themeatic, with such catagories as "Mass Media" and "Erotica" helping to clarify the feeling of the time period. ...

Outstanding Book on Power System Operation and Control
This is the second edition of an extremely well written and carefully thought out book. The material is systematically developed and is a graduate text book which provides a solid foundation in various aspects of power system operation and control. At Iowa State University we have used this book ever since the first edition was published for an introductory graduate course in our graduate ...
