Scholastic Press, 2008

Appeals to kids and adults
It's difficult to find a book that entertains the parent reading the bedtime story as well as the child listening. We've found just a few: Charlotte's Web, The Hobbit, and Swindle. We start a lot of books, but one or the other of us lose interest. Swindle was exciting, engaging and had surprising twists. I'll bet this one gets turned into a movie. (If it does, let's hope it's as good as the ...

Enjoyable
My middle school son is always looking for an excuse to NOT read. This book was one that he picked up without an argument. It was enjoyable, easy to read, short chapters, fun characters. It was definitely a hit with my, not so easy to please, son.

Chasing the Falconers (On the Run, Book 1)34 reviews
Gordon Korman

Scholastic, 2005

Great Series, fast paced
My 10-year-old loves this series, and has hooked her 12-year-old sister in to it, too. I've read some of the books out loud to the kids and they are fun, fast, and clean. Great suspense of a very appropriate nature for young readers. I would recommend these books to anyone.
