Mrs. Witty's Monster Cookies4 reviews
Helen Witty

Workman Pub Co, 1983

Terrific cookies
These are reliable recipes for great cookies. We are especially fond of the mocha walnut (pecan) chocolate chip cookies, pecan pie squares, toffee tops and hazelnut macaroons. I don't make them any particular size so can't vouch for the instructions on "maximonsters," but I have consistently tasty results.

Better Than Store-Bought: A Cookbook12 reviews
Helen Witty, Elizabeth Colchie

Harpercollins, 1985

from the ashes
When my house burned down and I lost all my cookbooks, the one favorite I coouldn't replace is this one. I know two people who own it and I've been borrowing it a lot, esp. during summer/harvest. I need it for jams, pickles, sauerkraut. At this moment I have sauerkraut bubbling away and a rye sourdough starter that's just ready to use. I don't know of another book that covers all these things ...

The Good Stuff Cookbook: Over 300 Delicacies to Make at Home3 reviews
Helen Witty

Workman Publishing Company, 1997

WONDERFUL!!
If I could give this cookbook 10 stars, I surely would. Here are some truly wonderful recipes for just the sort of tasty foods that one usually has to find in upscale delicatessens or fancy restaurants. A nice touch is Helen Witty's notes in the margin that give helpful tips on achieving the most successful results. I've learned a lot about cooking techniques from this cookbook that have made ...

Introducing Chinese Casserole Cookery3 reviews
Lilah Kan

Workman Publishing Co., 1978

Introducing Chinese Casserole Cookery
My copy of this book was published in 1978. I have used it regularly. Each time my family gets together I surprise them with another wonderful dish made from this lovely cookbook. I was also happy to see Ms. Kah and I have matured gracefully over these years. During the last 26 years I have made almost all the dishes, repeated several time after time and still love it. Don't be afraid to give ...

Ozark Forager shares her joy
The staff of our nature center lists this as an excellent resource. Her BIG, detailed books have good drawings and great recipes. Her home is the Ozarks so the plants are common to us in Oklahoma.

Fancy Pantry7 reviews
Helen Witty

Workman Pub, 1986

A reprint of this is a MUST!
If I could have one cookbook back after our house burned down, this would be it. The Melon Moons recipe was our all time favorite pickle. We used most of the cherry recipes to preserve the abundance from our trees. The unique and exquisite recipes and precise directions make this the best book on canning, preserving, as well as endless other condiments, pate`s and wonderful things for the ...
