It is a good book. It has really cool stuff in it like a fully-grown mountain troll and the sorcerer's stone. Hermione used a lot of magic. Malfoy was very selfish and mean and one of the reasons Harry didn't want to be in Slytherin.

I bought this book with the hopes that I would be able to understand it, even with my limited command of the German language (Studied for 4 years in high school), and to my surprise, I was able to make my way through it without any real trouble. It stays true to the original English, and its a good direct translation. I'd recommend it if you want to keep up with your German in a fun new way.

practicing my french by reading this book, some words are hard to translate into english as they are basically no ordinary words in the first place, where in the dictionary is muggle that gets translated into something completely different. Good book - glad I tried it.
