Very thoughtful
'How to Think Theologically' by Howard Stone and James Duke is a wonderfully accessible text, not about any particular school of theology, but rather, how to think theologically within almost any framework. While there are certainly some theological settings that prefer to go unquestioned and resist critical reflection, many are open to the kinds of reflection and critical analysis Stone and ...

Looking for an alternative to our pill popping culture ?
So you're looking for an alternative to pill popping ? Now that's a change! I'm in awe of people who think it it's ok to take a pill to prevent something that they think is going to happen - for example, a friend mentioned that she needs to take a strong pain pill (I won't mention the name here) because she "may" get back pain. That's not what pills were made for. If you worry about the side ...

Comprehensive and Informative
This book is an excellent reference for food uses of thousands of common edible North American plant species. It is not a field guide -- i.e. it is not meant to help you identify plants -- it is a REFERENCE to help you determine the uses of plants you already know how to identify. For the most part, the few pictures suck, but this doesn't matter -- just use this book along with a good field ...

MUST HAVE in yoru library
This is another book I am constantly referencing. It is small enough to pack in your backpack or coat pocket if you want to identify plants in the wild. Steven Foster also provides clear photographs to make it far easier to determine the plants. The descriptions are good and have helped me several times identify plants in my region.
