Looking for an alternative to our pill popping culture ?
So you're looking for an alternative to pill popping ? Now that's a change! I'm in awe of people who think it it's ok to take a pill to prevent something that they think is going to happen - for example, a friend mentioned that she needs to take a strong pain pill (I won't mention the name here) because she "may" get back pain. That's not what pills were made for. If you worry about the side ...

Very thoughtful
'How to Think Theologically' by Howard Stone and James Duke is a wonderfully accessible text, not about any particular school of theology, but rather, how to think theologically within almost any framework. While there are certainly some theological settings that prefer to go unquestioned and resist critical reflection, many are open to the kinds of reflection and critical analysis Stone and ...

A "Must-Have" for Every Herbalist, Spiritual Healer, etc!
I was fortunate enough to be able to read this book before it went to press, as I was asked to give a quote for the back of the book. It is thorough, well researched, and is a valuable resource for scholars, healers, herbalists, historians, spiritual healers, students - well, for everyone! Herbs that were mentioned in the Bible are explained and includes a look at how they are still used ...

MUST HAVE in yoru library
This is another book I am constantly referencing. It is small enough to pack in your backpack or coat pocket if you want to identify plants in the wild. Steven Foster also provides clear photographs to make it far easier to determine the plants. The descriptions are good and have helped me several times identify plants in my region.

An Encyclopedia, best used as a cross reference.
This book is what it says it is, an encyclopedia. It provides very detailed descriptions on a very large database of plants. It would be close to impossible to use alone as a means of identifying plants in the field, so it is best used as a cross reference to a field guide. Recommended field guides would be "A Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants: Eastern and Central North America" by the Petersons, ...

Great Intro to Religious Sociology
Religious sociology is actual statistical research on how certain religious cultures act and/or develop. This book is a compilation of famous articles about the current state of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and legitimate statistics about its members. So if you've ever heard the quote that by the end of the 21st century, the LDS church is supposed to have 260,000,000 ...
