Player's Handbook Races: Dragonborn: A 4th Edition D&D Supplement5 reviews
James Wyatt

Wizards of the Coast, 2010

This is what I'd like to see more of!
This book is pretty much a fleshed out version of the online-only Dragon Magazine article on the Dragonborn, one of the new classes added to the 4th edition of D&D. If you've read the online version, you'll be pretty familiar with what's here--though they throw in some new elements that I totally love, like a new political spin on dragonborn's position within society (basically in the early days ...

Magic of Incarnum (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying)16 reviews
James Wyatt, Frank Brunner, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2005

Magic of Incarnum review
The Magic of Incarnum (hereby referred to as MoI) is a really fun magic variant which can be applied to any v3.5 D&D game. It features incarnum, which are basically pseudo-permanent magic items which can be switched on a daily basis for different items. This may seem overpowered at first, but players play a dear price to make these items decent, in class levels specifically. The book itself ...

Eberron Campaign Guide: A 4th Edition D&D Supplement14 reviews
James Wyatt, Keith Baker

Wizards of the Coast, 2009

Great setting, great book!
After the terrible, terrible Forgotten Realm books put out last year, I was pretty darn hesitant to purchase another 4th edition setting. Seeing it was written by the amazing James Wyatt and Keith Baker, I went ahead and took the chance; I am so glad I did. The other reviewers have done a great job describing the setting and who it might appeal to, so I just wanted to say a few words about ...

Pyramid of Shadows (Dungeons & Dragons, Adventure H3)8 reviews
Mike Mearls, James Wyatt

Wizards of the Coast, 2008

It's all about the DM!
We just finished POS last night and I have to say, I'm going to miss Karavakos and Vyrellis. I can see how in unskilled hands this mod might fall flat, but with just a little bit of finesse my players loved their time in the pyramid. The secret to making the pyramid work is to capitalize on diplomacy. True, the Charnel Lord won't listen, but there are many who will. Grash Vren, Camnor, ...

Player's Guide to Eberron (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying, Eberron Supplement)12 reviews
James Wyatt, Keith Baker, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2006

Very Useful
Of all the books at my fingertips in a gaming session, this one (besides the core Eberron book, PHB, DMG, MM) gets the most use. I really like the information provided to the players based on their skills. Furthermore, it is easier to track down this information than in the Eberron Campaign Setting book.

Fiend Folio (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying)18 reviews
James Wyatt, Eric Cagle, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2003

Great Book!
This book is excelent! Filled with fiends, undead, oozes, and some fey, this book has so many ideas for that monster for the climactic battle, or if you just want to keep your players on their toes. There's also new rules for grafts, if you want a demonic leg or something, and fiendish prestiege classes! The only [minor] downsides are that most creatures have an incredibly high challenge rating, ...

Heroes of Horror (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying Supplement)19 reviews
James Wyatt, Ari Marmell, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2005

Excellent for both player and DM
I happened to see this book at a local book store and as a DM/player I thought I would check it out. I am a huge fan of horror and other creepy-crawly things, so this book really helped out my campaigns. The sections that I enjoy the most are the storytelling elements and taint/corruption. I do not like mostly hack'n'slash campaigns, so to do side quests that require thought instead of an axe ...

Deities and Demigods (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying Supplement)35 reviews
Rich Redman, James Wyatt, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2002

Great Tool For Ambitious 3rd Edition D&D Gamers
Deities and Demigods is a fantastic sourcebook for players and gamemasters who wish to add a lot of power and scope to their campaigns. This book (designed under 3.0 rules) goes into the different kinds of deities one may have, statistical entries for existing deities in four different pantheons (D&D, Greek, Egyptian, and Norse), and adventure ideas surrounding players' ascension to divinity. ...

Dragon Forge: Draconic Prophecies, Book 2 (The Draconic Prophecies)1 review
James Wyatt

Wizards of the Coast, 2009

Dragonic Retention
I was jonesing for an Eberron fix and I'd exhausted the available supply of Keith Baker novels - The Draconic Prophecies fills that need but doesn't feel as satisfying. It does feel like a reader needs to be familiar with the 3.5 rules more so than they are familiar with literary conventions in the genre. When Wyatt is cooking, you get that rush of feeling like you're deep in a game, a kick-ass ...
