March's Advanced Organic Chemistry: Reactions, Mechanisms, and Structure, 5th Edition21 reviews
Michael B. Smith, Jerry March

Wiley-Interscience, 2001

The Best Reference for Organic Chemistry
This is by far the best text I have found. Although it is considered a text book, it is more handy as a reference tool. I have seen no other book that contains more information than March's. This book is actually worth the price.

Who Says Quack? (Pudgy Board Book)15 reviews
Jerry Smith

Grosset & Dunlap, 1991

Cute book - my toddler loves it.
My 18-month old carries this book around with him during the day. The photos keep him busy and he loves turning the pages. There really isn't a story to the book. Just animal noises. Fun to read and I've heard him practicing the noises when he looks at the book himself. Cute book. I'm glad I bought it.

Wheels on the Bus (Pudgy Board Book)31 reviews
Jerry Smith

Grosset & Dunlap, 1991

Sing-a-long book
This version is closer to the CD of Raffi songs that my kids listen to. The pictures are excellent -it's easy to make up new stories to go along with the original text.

Amazing Lizards (Eyewitness Juniors)2 reviews
Trevor Smith

Rebound by Sagebrush, 2001

Fun and Informative, Like Loco for Lizards
Great little book--reminds me of Jim Cherry's Loco for Lizards, another "laugh out loud funny" book that seriously informs while keeping the reader amused. I highly recommend them both.

Weather Warfare12 reviews
Jerry E. Smith

Adventures Unlimited Press, 2006

Become an Export on Weather Warfare with One Simple Book!
Have you ever been at a party and REALLY wanted to impress your friends during their conspiracy conversations with a dissertation on weather warfare? Yeah me neither, usually my interest in the subjects of the conspiracy kind relegate me to the dark corners while other speak of football and politics (although politics are fun too..). But if you did you need to read this book! After reading ...

Collective Bargaining Simulated (4th Edition)2 reviews
Jerry Smith, Mike Carrell, ...

Prentice Hall, 1995

Effective Workbook for Collective Bargaining Simulation
Collective bargaining is something that has to be experienced to be understood, and a simulation is a great way to help students develop that perspective. This student workbook is excellent, and provides a sound basis for the simulation. I did not have access to the software for the instructor, so I cannot comment on that. The simulation is broken down into 5 phases: Preparation; ...

Boom Towns & Relic Hunters of Northeastern Washington20 reviews
Jerry L. Smith

Elfin Press, 2002

In Search For Hidden Treasure
I purchased a copy of Jerry's book. It was taken along with me as my personal history reference guide as I searched for his Boom Towns & Relic Hunters "Geo Relic Treasure Caches". His book explained the detailed history of the area I was visiting while conducting my historic treasure hunt.

I'm So Big! (Pudgy Board Book)3 reviews
Jerry Smith

Grosset & Dunlap, 1991

Finally, a book with real people!
My son (12 mos) loves to look at the toddlers and their accomplishments in this book. It's nice to see a book that doesn't advertise a character or product or tv show! I'm sure this will be a favorite for a while because it deals with potty training, sharing, helping, etc. Some of the pictures look like they were taken in the 70's, but my son doesn't mind.

The Complete Guide to Paintball, Revised Edition49 reviews
Steve Davidson, Pete Robinson, ...

Hatherleigh Press, 2002

A virtual encyclopedia of expert advice
Now in an updated, expanded, and illustrated third edition, The Complete Guide To Paintball can justifiably be considered as the "bible" of one of the country's most popular personal competition sporting activities. This is a virtual encyclopedia of expert advice and information on the rules, equipment, clothing, safety, tactics, fields, and every other aspect of the game. If you are a ...

My Dog Book2 reviews
Anne Smith

Mr. Woofey's Emporium, 1997

Classic Dog Book
This is the greatest dog journal I have ever seen. I really like the spiral bound book because you can rearrange the pages. The extra pages are helpful for adding pictures of your dog each month. This book records everything from where you got your dog, how you picked him, vet stuff, coming home page, then it has pages of the months for your dogs growth. This is well worth the money. Also, it ...

Captive Angel1 review
Jerry Smith

iUniverse, Inc., 2004

Dolphin Book Captures Grandmother
If you only wanted to write a book for kids about dolphins, you would take the easier route- showing what a cruelty it is to keep them from the sea. Especially in stages of rebelliousness, it would be easy for some readers to buy that. However, Jerry Smith takes another direction. He brings us closer to the possibility of extending human relationships to include bonds with these large ...

Designing Organizations to Create Value: From Strategy to Structure1 review
Jim Brickley, Clifford Smith, ...

McGraw-Hill, 2002

Organization theory made understandable
This book is a shorter and very readable version of the authors' well-known textbook. It provides a highly useful and straightforward framework for thinking about strategy and organizational issues, and describes how and why a company's organizational structure must dovetail with its strategic objectives in order to ensure long-term value creation. It identifies three key elements of any ...

Harlequin (Shadowrun RPG)2 reviews
W.G. Armintrout, Tom Dowd, ...

Fasa, 1991

A Classic Shadowrun Adventure Series
What you have here is not a sourcebook. It is a set of 5-6 adventures in one package that all relate to each other in a way you probably won't expect. The adventures all (eventually) link to a pivotal character in the Shadowrun universe. It's actually one of the few adventures that has you connect so closely to a pivotal character (kinda). That character is Harlequin (i.e. Laughing Man for those ...

Asombrosas Lagartos/Amazing Lizards (Coleccion "Mundos Asombrosos"/Eyewitness Junior Series)1 review

Asombrosas Lagartos es Asombroso
Fantastic book on lizards. Pictures are great, facts are numerous, and the variety of lizards help make this a very useful reference and just reading book.

Harley-Davidson: A Three-Dimensional Tribute to an American Icon1 review
Jerry Hatfield, Harley-Davidson, ...

Piggy Toes Press, 1998

A marvelous and beautiful pop-up historical work of of art
This book is sure to sit on may coffee tables of both those who own and ride Harley's, as well as those who appreciate the beauty of the machine, it's legacy and the creativity in which the book was put together. The Harley logo on the front of the book, when pressed, gives the sound of a Harley engine being started and then fades in the distance. I recommend this book for teenage through ...

How to Plan and Manage Warehouse Operations1 review
James A. Tompkins, Jerry D. Smith

Amacom Books, 1982

Holds up extremely well after 10 years
Usually self-study books like this are very hit and miss, and this one is a big hit. I learned a ton of information about warehousing from this book, and it's really practical information. In my job at work, I'm helping to increase our inventory accuracy, and it gives a lot of extremely good information. Why did this hold up so well? Mostly because the authors talked about the timeless ...

Basics of Windows: The Easy Guide to Vista & XP - Part 11 review
Stephie Smith

Wentworth Publishing, 2008

Perfect Windows Reference Manual
Basics of Windows should be shipped with every PC with Windows. Stephie Smith has made learning Windows so simple even a caveman could do it! Her basic approach obviously comes from her real-life instruction to non-PC users on how to maneuver around the screen. The clever cartoons show how you can't take things literally when using a PC. The large, color screenshots show exactly where you are ...
