Livin' La Vida Mocha
Nothing piques the morbid fascination of a dinner guest quite like a platter of veal frappuccino. Top it off with a decaffeinated stock reduction and you're a host whose meals will be recounted for decades. This book has afforded us years of excellent in-home dining, as well as cheap laughter. My wife also once used it to great effect in ridding us of an in-law babysitter that she considered too ...

Best contemporary book on the issue
A marvel in comparison to the many contemporary metaphysics books that are still so influenced by modernism, positivism and postmodernism. The book covers all issues dealt with by positivist books, but also traditional metaphysical trancendentals (truth, goodness, beauty), linking them to the ultimate Being. The author is not afraid of political correctness, arguing that metaphsics is a ...

Beautiful illustrations to go with this classic story!
I am rereading this classic on my Kindle and was happily surprised to find that it included beautiful illustrations. The illustrations look great on the Kindle, much like I'm sure they would have in the original book. I highly recommend this version for your Kindle!

LOVE the Williams-Sonoma Series!
This is a truely wonderful addition to any cookbook collection. Unlike most cookbooks that require you to spend a lot of money buying ingredients you most probably will only use once, these recipes mostly require olive oil, garlic, onions, peppers, the basic seasonings (e.g., oregano, salt, black or lemon pepper, etc.), and occasionally one more fancy addition (making the dishes MUCH less ...

Easy Drills & Plans that Work - Fun Read
When our regular youth league basketball coach quit because of illness the coaching job was passed to me. I'm a big basketball player/fan with limited coaching experience, so you can imagine my relief when I discovered Celtics Coach John Carroll's new book. Coach Carroll's book is fun to read and it's illustrated with lots of pictures and straightforward diagrams. We've been practicing with ...

a classic read!
it should be law that every child read this wonderfully written book, actually that might be going a bit far, but I LOVE this book, it was read to me as a little girl (given it was the Disney version) and later I purchased it again to read as an adult and I still have to same love and excitement from the story that I all those years ago. While I could go on about the way this book is written ...

A very helpful guide
Sometimes it is really hard to come up with the right phrase, especially when giving negative feedback. This book offered some great advice and sample phrases which worked for me. While doing performance appraisals is never a pleasure, I got through mine this year much faster than I have in past years.

"Curiouser and curiouser!"
My first exposure to Lewis Carroll's classic children's story was through the 1951 Disney film adaptation "Alice in Wonderland," which I watched repeatedly as a child. The creative quality of the story never failed to fascinate me, and I kept going back despite my deep-rooted terror of the frightful Queen of Hearts, who always gave me nightmares! However, it was not until recently, as an adult, ...

Funniest Thing I Ever Read!
More than 450 poems ranging from the 17th century to the present; emphasis on the present. Over a third of the poems have never before appeared in any anthology. This is the only big illustrated book of light verse, and the illustrations are delectable. Some are by the poets themselves; Lear, Bab Gilbert, Oliver Herford, G K Chesterton, Nicholas Bentley, and Walt Kelly. The Great masters are here ...

Recipe to cure blandness
I enjoyed the first book: What's Cooking Madison? I was impressed by the concept of compiling favorite recipes from people and businesses in the local community. What was particularly appealing was the inclusion of notes by some of the contributors about how the recipe has been used by them. There are interesting stories about how the food relates to a family or ethnic tradition mentioning ...

Finest book on contemporary Charleston and art in print.
I purchased my copy of this beautiful coffee-table book from John Carroll Doyle's art gallery in Charleston. The book showcases his art, but at the same time focuses on the history of Charleston through the eyes of someone who grew up there in the 1950's-present. If you are interested in exquisite art and Charleston history, by all means, this is the book for you.

Best chopper book out there
This book is very well researched and written. Other books like "Art of the Chopper" and "Extreme Motorcycle Art" are great to look at but lack any real historical context. The book definitely has a "Outlaw Club" twist to it, but that is the reality of the history of the Chopper. Highly recommended
