A sound, well-written companion for home inspectors/buyers
This book hits upon the major components of home inspection. The checklists throughout the book are a bit redundant (I found many duplicate checklist items). The book also goes in to some considerations for starting your own business in home inspection, which is helpful. I view this book as a good SUPPLEMENT rather than the "bible" of home inspection because I feel it is not exhaustive and ...

BUILDER SAYS "NO" TO THIS BOOK...
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!! Measuring only 5.25" x 8.5", ALL DRAWINGS ARE REDUCED TO FIT. THE REPRO IS BELOW NEWSPRINT 85 LPI QUALITY MAKING THE PRINT AND DRAWINGS ILLEGIBLE. A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, EVEN AT THE USED PRICE OF $6.00! SHAMEFUL. IF I COULD RATE LOWER THAN ONE STAR I WOULD.

Don't waste your money
I bought this book hoping to at least learn how to connect wires for an alarm system. I was highly disappointed. Do not waste your money.

Electrician Exam Prep Guide, Works!
Before I got this study guide I took the journeyman's exam one time previously and failed. I saw this guide on Amazon and bought it. Received it shortly and began studying. It came with a cd rom study guide. AWESOME! The practice tests helped greatly. The tests give you direction to what you need to improve on. If you follow the study guide carefully and allow ample study time you will pass the ...

When you want to know the fine points of a reamer and a receptacle, an electrical workers' dictionary is your best bet. And an illustrated dictionary is better yet, because if you have to ask what a relay circuit is, it's best to see a diagram of the thing to go along with the definition. John Traister's Illustrated Dictionary for Electrical Workers contains some 200 illustrations and more than 3,000 definitions from AA (Aluminum Association) ...

Disappointed
This loading book does offer a complete list of a variety of calibers. However, it falls short because it only lists some wierd (or at lease uncommon) powders that I have never used to load cartridges or shells. The book does have some other interesting info about guns and loading. But this does not make it a good loading book reference.

Excellent resource for those interested in gunsmithing
I have really enjoyed this book. It is not written in some gunsmith code word language. The instructions are very clear easy to grasp. I especially was impressed with the section on hot bluing your items yourself.

Comments on The Collector's Guide by John E. Traister
This book, while containing helful information to the beginning collector, suffers from very poor organization, excessive focus on modern reproductions of antique firearms, and numerous errors in pricing. Overall, the book lacks authority.
