JT series
I have used JT books for a long time and I really like this method of instruction. It proceeds slowly and steadily and gives an opportunity to understand concepts. The books have a very nice way of instructing you on how to play - words are simple, diagrams are used when necessary, small examples are given for you to practice and learn. I am looking forward to completing the series. One other ...

learn to play piano
These are the best learn to play piano books and this grandmother learned from them also. My grandchildren are ready to start and I am sure they will do well, even if they learn only for their own enjoyment.

Quite possibly the hieght of the series
First off, if you aren't familiar with the Sandman series yet, I'd have to recommend the first(The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes) or second(The Sandman Vol. 2: The Doll's House) volume for an introduction to the universe and Gaiman's writing. Still, this eclectic collection of stories only occasionally involves the Endless, so this book is certainly readable on its own. Between ancient ...

A great book with a great CD
I really loved this piano book. I had an old one from the 50's and the pages were crumbling so I really need a new one. What I really liked was that it came with a CD of the music so now I can play the CD to see how it is supposed to sound when I play it. Love it.John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano: Third Grade - Book/CD Pack (John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano Series)

Great Book for the beginner and beyond!
Ski Spot Run review This book is an excellent introduction to skijoring. It begins with the basics, including the history of the sport. It includes plenty of tips and suggestions for how to get started, ways to encourage your dog to pull and general training ideas. The section on commands alone is worth the price of admission - it lays out very clearly when to use each command and how to ...

an abridged version of this wondrous book is *also* a good thing
I, too, am a longtime fan of D'Arcy Thompson's endearing (enduring) classic. I've read the discussion. I appreciate very much that Golan Levin, in "Canto: An unfortunate redaction of a timeless classic," and others as well, have made it clear to Amazon customers that the Canto (Cambridge University Press) version of this book is radically abridged, as compared to Dover's (apparently) unabridged ...

Very good seller, very timely delivery, very good condition for the book. Whatever the seller marked as the condition of the book was an understatement, the book arrived in brand new condition. I would absolutely buy again from this seller.

Great Beginner's Textbook
This a great book for beginners. It is non-assuming, starts from the very basic, and takes a step by step approach on fingering and theory. It's easy to make real progress with this book. After I got thru the first half of this book, the pieces in this book starts to become boring. I still used this book for theory, but got other books on classical music made for beginners as practices.

Golden Age Marvel review
This volume is more than a book because it also contais the history of golden age comics and comics writers & editiors in the USA. It is quite a need for all of us who love comics and want to preserve good and fond memories of those comics that marked our childhood (and life as well. I do strongly recommend it and wait other golden age comics omnibus soon again.

A fantastic story for all ages.
This book is an elegant and beautiful account of an experience so common in modern America. Childhood sports are no longer, sadly, about the kids. They are about winning, and nothing else. No longer are kids allowed to experience the game for what it really means, rather they are forced by their parents and coaches to care only about being better than others. This sort of enviroment contributes ...

abstract but has a lot of potential
This book will most likely not appeal to US students in linguistics. Because Bourdieu deals with rather abstract concepts which cover a lot of social ground (e.g., symbolic, cultural, economic capital, field, etc.)and not enough linguistic ground, some linguists will have trouble applying concepts to the actual production of speech at the phonological, morpho-syntactic, pragmatic and discourse ...

Despite your fears, this book is pure gold
This book describes the customs, recipes, poems, and songs used to celebrate Christmas in the big plantation houses and in the slave quarters just before the Civil War. I was filled with great trepidation after seeing the cover of this book. It was a relief to me to find that, fortunately, the text was respectful and historically accurate. But observe, as I did, this cover. We know, after ...

Good to have
The National Geographic Almanac of American History is a good book to have. Lots of detailed information and maps. Sometimes, things need more explanation to get the whole message. Overall, the book is really worth being on your bookshelf but, saying that the universe began with a BIG BANG is disappointing of the National Geographic. That is a meaning, not a scientific fact!
